My nutrition degree taught me how the body works and the biochemistry of food. Real life taught me that true health is far more nuanced 🍃

September is PMOS Awareness Month. 🌿
1 in 10 women are affected, but most don't know it's metabolic, not just hormonal. The good news? There's a way through.

Health isn’t about the perfect diet. That is why when I am working with my clients I don’t just look at what they are eating. I look at their sleep, their stress levels, how they move and who they connect with. Everything is connected.

It’s about stress management, quality sleep, movement, and connection. Your anti-inflammatory food means nothing if you’re chronically stressed, sleep-deprived and lonely. Your mind, body, and spirit work as one system.

Matcha is loaded with catechins and chlorophyll—powerful antioxidants that brighten your complexion, reduce inflammation, and boost collagen production for that natural glow. Meanwhile, chia's soluble fiber nourishes your microbiome and supports digestion. Simple, delicious, and exactly what your body and skin needs.
INGREDIENTS:
* 2 tsp matcha green tea powder
* 1 cup dairy-free milk (almond or coconut)
* ¼ cup chia seeds
* ½ tbsp maple syrup or sweetener of choice (I used allulose)
* Toppings: fresh berries, almonds, granola (or pistachios), yoghurt
METHOD:
1. Whisk matcha powder with milk until smooth—no clumps!
2. Stir in chia seeds and maple syrup until combined
3. Refrigerate 2 hours or overnight until thick
4. Serve with yoghurt and top with your favorite fresh fruit, nuts & granola
5. Enjoy!

Your most powerful medicine isn’t in the bottle. It’s on your plate.

For many years I was struggling with hormonal and gut issues, inflammation, and fatigue. I’d look at food and only see numbers—calories were all that mattered.
Now, I’m energized in a way I forgot was possible. My cycle is balanced and my skin started to clear.

The shift happened when I stopped viewing food as just calories and started understanding it as information. I learned that food literally has the power to change our gene expression. That’s when I started eating whole foods intentionally and prioritising nutrient density over restriction. Not perfection—just real, nourishing food.

You cannot just think your way out of survival mode. The body must first feel safe to release tension, reset its natural rhythms, and begin to repair.

That includes your skin. Skin is one of the places stressed nervous system shows itself — flare-ups, breakouts, dullness, sensitivity that seems to come from nowhere. It’s not always the product, the food, or the routine. Skin sits at the end of a long chain that starts with stress hormones, inflammation, and a body that’s been too busy protecting itself to focus on repairing itself.

You can layer on every serum and still fight your skin if the body underneath is still in survival mode. Calm the nervous system, and the skin often has an easier time doing what it already knows how to do.

If you want to learn how to do that dm me “HEAL”

One thing I wish I knew before I started my skin healing journey: my acne wasn't a flaw. It was a message.

From my gut. From my nervous system. From my body trying to tell me something was out of balance.

The moment I stopped hating my skin and started listening to it, everything shifted.

Here's what that looks like:
E.g breakouts before your period? Your nervous system is dysregulated, your microbiome is weak, your estrogen isn't cycling properly. Your skin is showing you all three.

This changes everything about how you treat it.
Instead of: "Fix my skin" (shame, products, control)
You ask: "What is my skin trying to tell me?" (curiosity, listening, healing)

Skin issues aren’t a punishment. It's information.

What message has your skin been trying to send?

Follow for more advice on how to heal your skin from the inside out. ✨
