One year without you. One year without your 7am phone calls. One year without hearing your laugh. One year without you teaching me something new. One year without making you dinner. One year of walking around with a hole in my heart. I won’t lie I didn’t think I could go a whole year without you. It wasn’t easy and I missed you every second of everyday. I wish you got to see me big and pregnant but most of all I wish you got to hold your grandson. I know you’re watching over us and I promise to make you proud. There are so many things I’ve been uncertain of in my life, but one thing I’ve always known is that I wanted to be a mom. Unfortunately the years passed and I slowly came to terms with the possibility that maybe it just wasn’t in the cards for me, until December when I found out I was pregnant. I tell people all the time how I think that my dad got up to heaven and made a deal with God, because he knew the only way I’d be able to keep going was if he sent me back down a son to love as much as I loved him. Getting to celebrate this Mother’s Day carrying baby Thomas in my belly and knowing I’ll be able to carry him in my arms for the next one is the greatest feelings in the world. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there. by @esthersattic

Day one in the books, Parker and I took baby Thomas for his first peddle, halfway through the ride I made Parker give me my bike back because the e-bike had me snoozin. He took off in sport mode and I quickly remembered I’m almost half baked and everything on me is swollen. Despite the heavy breathing, it was glorious. Seriously I missed the two wheelin feelin. by @esthersattic

Today I made my first loaf of Babka that I couldn’t share with my dad. A few days after my dad passed I called my brother Seth crying because I wish I made my dad more bread. He laugh/cried and told me I couldn’t have possibly made him more bread. He wasn’t wrong, I was making that man fresh loafs every few days last fall into the spring, I was just struggling with guilt. My dad was the greatest human I ever met, and I felt and sometimes still feel like I didn’t tell him that enough. So here’s your reminder to tell the people in your life how you feel even if it feels silly, because they won’t be here forever and you’ll wish you had when you had the chance. by @esthersattic
