I’m gonna call it quits on this one now - it’s so easy to keep going and going when you’re working with charcoal and pencil - there’s always more details and pleasure in completing them but time to move onto a new work. ‘Big boys don’t cry’ pencil on Bristol smooth paper. Thank you to my son Ben @benmurphymusic for being my model for this drawing - it is my aim to use members of my family in each of my portraits. Obviously the issues do not necessarily affect them but what better models could I ask for! They are helping me get my message across in the best possible way. Welcome to my new Instagram account pinpointing the start of my independant art venture - Let me introduce you to the drawing that inspired me. I completed this drawing on a course and found out that I was absolutely in love with this type of realism using pencil only. I’ve moved on to using pencil and charcoal, and I’m still discovering new methods and improving, I hope you will continue to follow me here and join me on my journey. My aim is to give a voice to the silenced by portraying instances in life that some of us may not want to talk about but should be heard.
