Finally getting around to gathering the photos that the amazing @tiltphoto_pz took of this year’s @acefilmeditors EditFest.

It was such a joy to speak alongside the uber talented @greg_ng_editor (Backrooms, Longlegs), @iehagy (Widow’s Bay, Atlanta), and @terelgibson (Ready or Not, Cuckoo) on the nuances, challenges, and fun of cutting horror. There is so much artistry that goes into this genre, and it’s thrilling to see audiences resonating with it now more than ever.

Huge thank you to our incredible moderator @jexantus!! Loved the questions he brought. And jaw dropping amazement at the graphics @skwrlygurl designed. Thank you @jennimcx for inviting me, and giving me the excuse to fly home. 🤍

And of course, I live for any chance to share with a captive audience my philosophy around the balance of Horror, Humor, and Heart. Our job as editors is to build empathy, and in horror especially, you can’t have one without the others, they’re all just different ways of getting an audience to care. by @esthersok

@andy_muschietti and I had a blast sitting down with @collider a few weeks ago to talk through our favorite scenes and scares from season 1 of IT: Welcome to Derry. I’m too proud of this to not have it live in full on the grid.

Editing a show of this size and scope, with the tremendous cast, crew and collaborators, was one for the ages.

I don’t know about you, but I could live in Derry forever 🥰 (cursed clown aside)

So proud of this team.

IT: Welcome to Derry took home the Saturn Award for Best Horror Television Series this past Sunday, and I’m still a little stunned to be part of something this special.

Making a show like this takes an army of wildly talented people, and I feel incredibly lucky to work among them. Grateful to Andy and Barbara Muschietti for the trust, vision, and passion, and to every single member of the team who poured their craft into bringing this strange, beautiful world to life.

What a ride. A bat-baby, pickle-dad, Rich-writing-love-notes-on-his-shoe kind of ride. 🤍

🤡 Tonight is the finale of IT: Welcome to Derry! I’m feeling deeply emotional about what this chapter and this team have meant to me. I’m fortunate to have worked alongside some of the most creatively inspiring, hard-working, and kindest people in this industry. I’m endlessly grateful to @andy_muschietti and @barbaramus for building this family. Hope everyone has enjoyed this trip back to where IT all began 🤍

🐕 Meet Spoon! 🥄

This year, we’re very thankful for the newest member of our family! Spoon was found living on the streets as a stray, and we’re so grateful to have adopted him through @wagsandwalks this past September. As soon as he saw us, he ran into our arms, and we knew he was home.

Spoon is as sweet as can be, he loves cuddles and kisses. Every person he meets is quickly his best friend, especially if you give him non-stop belly rubs. He’s quickly wiggled his way into our hearts and we couldn’t imagine life without him now. We know Denver would have loved him too 🤍 by @esthersok
