The willow stood as a physical publication to the project. Wet / Land / Dwellers. (@a_place_of_their_own)

It charts a body of research and years of conversation around the living and conservation of rapidly declining wet land territories. From Sheffield to southern Australia.

The stories are fragments, bodies surrounded by water. Woven together through a shared experience of wet places.

The design spoke to these marginalised often erased landscapes. An imperfect artefact of anecdotal histories.

Excited to share a first project here for estuary.

A fantastic collaboration with the artist @h_m_f to compliment the end of her residency project Seasoning with @at.the.library_

From the artist: Seasoning questioned our relationship to the seasons within culture. E.g, It might seem like we are becoming insulated to the seasons as a mass population since moving away from being a largely agricultural society full of harvest rituals. But even when our livelihoods and places of work are often now unaffected by seasonal shifts, our psyches will always be affected by natural rhythms, we depend on them! And so this project explores ways to actively weave the seasons into our lives through the spices we flavour our food with, as well as through song and celebrations and poetry such as this.

Flavour descriptions collected throughout the seasons forages have been teased and smushed into a poem of sorts that now sits on billboards across the library in Bootle.
