Hay exposiciones que no buscan ofrecer una única lectura, sino abrir un espacio donde distintas sensibilidades conviven y se transforman mutuamente. Eso es precisamente lo que sucede en Conflux, la nueva exposición colectiva de Estudio Laterna, en Ibiza. A través de las obras de Carlota Pérez de Castro, Pablo Linsambarth, Patricia Paz y Sol Bailey Barker, pintura, escultura, materia y gesto se entrelazan para construir un paisaje en constante evolución. Más que una suma de obras, la muestra funciona como un diálogo abierto donde lo abstracto, lo reconocible y lo emocional encuentran un punto de encuentro. In this villa, the landscape does not accompany the architecture: it structures it. The horizon of Es Vedrá acts as the focal center of the whole. Not as a scenic backdrop, but as a silent axis that orders the project both visually and conceptually. From Estudio Laterna, we have fully developed and executed the landscape design, understanding the garden as a form of sensitive infrastructure. A landscape that does not impose itself, but instead adapts. The intervention engages directly with a brutalist architecture, a distinctive signature of Bruno Erpicum’s work: an architecture of mass, planes, and precise angles, where light is not an effect but a material in itself. The garden responds to this constructive condition through a restrained palette of mineral greens and greys, emphasizing the play of volumes, the cuts of light, and the tectonic reading of space, without introducing superfluous elements. Nothing is decorative: every element fulfills a function. At the center of the project emerges a Zen garden, where water rises through a tsukubai fountain—an essential and restrained gesture that introduces a ritual dimension and accompanies the reading of the architecture. Some conversations do not end when we leave the gallery; they continue to unfold in memory, in homes, and in the lives of those who choose to live alongside a work of art. It was a pleasure to welcome @carlotapdc to Estudio Laterna and share moments around her art at CONFLUX. Our sincere thanks also to @brunocasanovas for welcoming two of her paintings into his collection, allowing these works to begin a new journey and continue finding resonance beyond the exhibition space. This summer, some of the conversations that inhabit Estudio Laterna find a new setting at @canartfair ✨ At Booth L2, we bring together paintings by @carlotapdc , @patriciapaz.art and @pablo.linsambarth alongside ceramic sculptures by @yabusakikaori , an artist with whom we previously shared a very special chapter through Beyond Form exhibition. Four distinct practices, four different ways of engaging with matter. Carlota’s paintings emerge through gesture, intuition and layered accumulation. Patricia creates scenes where colour, symbol and emotion coexist in quiet tension. Pablo approaches the image as a fragmented territory where memory and fiction remain open to multiple interpretations. In Kaori’s work, clay becomes a living presence, shaped through touch, time and attentive observation. What interests us is creating encounters between artistic languages that, despite their differences, share a sensitivity towards transformation, material vulnerability and the things that reveal themselves when we slow down and look carefully. Throughout the fair, CONFLUX will continue unfolding across the gallery and garden of Estudio Laterna, accompanying the slower rhythm of the Ibiza summer. Still thinking about last Thursday 28th, May 🔥 Thank you to everyone who came to experience CONFLUX with us — for the conversations, the emotion, the warmth and the incredible energy that filled the gallery and garden from beginning to end. #CANLocal @estudio_laterna is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to creating meaningful encounters between artists, collectors and audiences through a carefully curated program of exhibitions and interdisciplinary dialogue. Opening tomorrow at @estudio_laterna in Santa Gertrudis, Ibiza. Unveiling two totemic sculptures in their garden. I’ll be at the opening tomorrow from 6, come down and say hello. The Totem symbolises that there is the connection, a common essence between the individual, the community and all natural species ( animal, vegetal or even Atmospheric). The central idea of Totemism is the existence of a dynamic co-naturality, between human beings and their environment.
