always an honor to be back at @thefordla! 2 years ago was my last time performing at The Ford at 37 weeks pregnant, which I initially thought would be my last performance for awhile. definitely grateful for the blessings to be able to continue to do this. it was just as special this time being with my @beatrockmusic family. thank you los angeles for rockin’ with us (and everyone who drove in/flew from all over!). y’all SOLD OUT The Ford!

thank you @kcb4eleven @akbmedia.presents @sheppi.soluna, my entire BRM fam, @et_iv, @carlangelomusic, and of course, my ultimate lodi, mentor, and big brother — @bambudepistola: I love you and I’m so very proud of you!!! 👊🏼 the people want an Izzy EP.

catch me next at the FAHM events throughout this month and ofc my EOTY show on 11/19 at the @bottomofthehillsf

BASS BUILDING at THE FORD - Act 1

Overwhelmed by the amount of love and support. The production team that cleared the path was comprised of women who’ve grown up with me in both my artistry and my organizing, and carried me through this monumental event in my life: @kcb4eleven @velalove @bellevilles @grcollado @misseseel + @ms_januarrrry — it goes without saying that I love them very much and I thank them for their trust in me.

The BASS BUILDING crew @sheppi.soluna @fern_doe @djphatrick @et_iv @fatgums and @faithsantilla — thank you for the immense amount of inspiration I drew from our love for each other and salute to y’all for dealing with my crazy ideas, ridiculous timelines and manic creative processes. Now we rest…….. til the next hare-brained idea.

My fellow emcees (who also happen to be family to me): @rockyrivera x @djroza, @prometheusbrown, @kiwizzo, and @rubyibarra @theneighborhoodkidsmusic! None of y’all hesitated when I asked you to be a part of this — as busy as you all are, without knowing what I was going to ask of you, you all said YES. I love you all and will dedicate my life to proving it. Flawless performances as expected. The Fighting Cocks’ performance as our house band really rounded the first half out — John’s voice has been synonymous with our community since back back! Everyone keeps asking me about their handle, but I can’t find it! Go listen to The Cocks @thefightingcocksla!!!

Big SALAMAT to my brother @patrick_martinez_studio for giving the ancestors a space to sit with us on that stage. Thank you to everyone who worked on that altar — it was full circle seeing @alfienumeric and @picsbydela laying out the vision.

Finally, thank you to @thefordla staff: EFFORTLESS execution.

On October 1st we’re dropping the album BASS BUILDING on Beatrock Music! While this album has my name on the cover, this project is truly a collaboration between myself, Faith Santilla, ET IV, Fatgums and DJ Phatrick. We’re all excited for folks to listen to it… BUT, it will not be dropping on any of the digital streaming platforms. In our attempt to further disrupt a machine that pays independent artists crumbs while continuing to have the ability to put ICE ads, political campaign commercials and other bullsh** over our work — we’re dropping this album as an app that WE control! Mirroring the days of slinging physical CD’s, we’re selling the album as a downloadable player complete with full liner notes and bonus content that will continue to drop after its release date. Yes, it will make it less accessible to the general public who already subscribe to the streaming apps, but we’re aiming to take a stand and show other artists that we don’t have to be cuffed to that monopoly. Looking forward to sharing this with y’all!!!

Go ahead and argue about it in the comments. ✌🏽 taken in Inglewood, California by @astig_sound

A few things:
1) last year i thought id recite a couple poems for Bam’s show at @thefordla on October 10, 2026. I didn’t know I’d end up writing more than I ever have in a couple months time for a whole new album
2) speaking of the album, Bam brought together me and my brothers @et_iv @fatgums @djphatrick plus some amazing folks for features (see slide 2) to create a special album for the Ford show. I’m honored to have been tricked into being a part of this project 😜
3) tickets for the show are in my bio, but be on the lookout for the album drop very very soon. It’ll be available on a very specific app - not your average DSP - so be sure to follow @bambudepistola and @beatrockmusic for updates.
4) thank you, Bam and @kcb4eleven of @akbmedia.presents for always believing in my poetry more than I do. by @astig_sound
