Synopsis

An archipelago, 120 people, 10 days of collective exploration. The documentary narrates a territorial research laboratory in La Maddalena, coordinated by the group of architects Eterotopia.
The military outposts, the case of the failed G8, the NATO occupation, the wealth of natural beauty are some of the stories that have been investigated during ten days of experimentation, by means of tales and architectures, maps and invisible patterns, round tables and visionary images.
Against the backdrop there is the heterotopia, a terrain for diversity and new connections between the disciplines, between near and far places, between territorial theory and practice.

Eterotopia La Maddalena (directed by Ivo Pisanti, 2020) was awarded at @asoloartfilmfestival 2021 and it was shortlisted at Istanbul Urban and Architecture Film Festival @istanbulmimarlarodasi , Milano Design Film Festival @mdff_mi , Moscow International Design Film Festival and Visioni Urbane by @eterotopia.al

Il Percorso dei Loci
The itinerary aims to tell the story of local legends, traditions, ethnographic and intangible heritage through installations located at strategic points in the village, entrusting the narration of the inhabitants themselves.
Conceived as narrative devices that interact with the site, highlighting its use and reinforcing its semantic value, the installations have been placed at 4 key stages along the path, setting up a “cosmological” stop, a parliament, a hidden garden and scattered toponymic flags.
The interventions enter into a dialogue with the real, the present, the dream, memory and community.

Fast Zine

Some pictures from the workshop we did last week in Porto Vecchio to produce collectively the first edition of a Fast Zine!
Using a paper punch we created different patterns informed by listening to @ennedicroce recording of the Attunement Exercises. Scanned and assembled together, they were printed on yellow paper on site.

Curated by @lorenzo.lazzari the zine is now published in a limited edition by @adriaticobook.club and has been distributed at the final event of the program.

The workshop is part of “POP Adriatico 2 – Una mostra in ascolto del Porto Vecchio” funded by Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The event was realised in coorganisation with the Municipality of Trieste taken in Porto Vecchio Trieste by @eterotopia.al

Route of the Loci | @eterotopia.al

Can architecture help us remember? In the Italian village of Ascrea, Route of the Loci transforms everyday public spaces into places that tell stories. Inspired by the ancient “Method of Loci” memory technique, the project connects local legends, traditions, and collective memory through a series of small architectural interventions.

The calendar for the second edition of POP Adriatico is out 🚧✨
This year, we’ll focus on listening to the Old Port during an attunement workshop with Nicola Di Croce and a Fast Zine workshop with Adriatico Book Club. The results of the workshops will be presented in the form of a Sonic Outpost on June 27th, activating the Echo Surrounding square through performances and DJ sets. After a season under the monumental arches, this year we’ll position ourselves on the other side of Porto Vecchio, between warehouses 26 and 27, to observe and inhabit another corner of the area together.
We look forward to seeing you there!

A year ago, the first edition of P O P A D R I A T I C O came to an end.

At the conclusion of the events in Porto Vecchio, we proposed to the Municipality of Trieste the possibility to continue organizing activities for the reactivation of the Monumental Gates, requesting the availability
of Edificio 110 as an operational base.

Even though the building had been in disuse for years, the City Council response was negative, as it considered it a “priority to keep the buildings and access routes to them available to the Municipality.”

To date, the warehouse is completely abandoned and there is no sign of use. We therefore wonder what priority use requires leaving a public building empty and inaccessible for more than a year.

In light of these developments, we believe it is increasingly important to continue to question and inhabit the Old Port as it undergoes transformation. For this reason, we are preparing a second edition of POP Adriatico for the summer of 2026.
