I had an idea to make Xoe a drawer divider for her sewing stuff so I created a design in 3ds max, then used that mockup to create the laser cutting path in Inkscape, then brought that into Lightburn to create the cutting path for my @creality3d Falcon laser cutter. The laser cut up two 300x300mm basswood boards in a jiffy, and everything fit nice and snug...only problem was when I assembled and glued together my creation, I put the walls in with the finger slots upside down...Oh well, she loved it anyways, and it still works upside down!

Another build, Kino (the cat) approved!

So I really like my workbench, but I'd like more space to put my laser cutter and 3d printer, so I am making another smaller table. Taking inspiration from the workbench design, I made my own version here. I modelled stock pieces of 2x4 lumber and my plywood sheets and assembled them into my table design to give me a perfect mockup before I begin. If there's any doubt how big something needs to be, I can simply measure the exact dimensions in the 3d model.

I used 3ds Max's Slice modifier to bisect the plywood and made the other half see-through to show the frame details underneath.

Once that was done, I *disassembled* the whole thing and laid the pieces out and labelled their lengths for a perfect cut list! I did basic markup for dimensions with photoshop to make it clearer what goes where.

Man...I love 3d!

Battle Damaged brick wall sculpt I created in VR using @substance3dart Modeler. I think it took around 1 hour to sculpt.

I started by making 1 brick and using it as a stamp to place bricks by hand to build a wall. Then, I used rocky/jagged shapes to cut away parts of the wall I made. Lastly, I went up close and added pockmarks, craters, and cracks. Lots of fun doing that all by hand with the VR controllers!!

I specifically made this to be 3d print friendly and print in one piece. I noticed a lot of DnD/Warhammer nerds on Thingiverse liked my miniatures so I made this specifically for the tabletop gaming community.

I finally bought a VR modelling program!! This rules!! This is my second sculpt attempt. It blows my mind that you can zoom in to whatever you make or hold it in the palm of your hand!

This chiseled fellow was my second sculpt attempt, I am still getting the hang of it since buying this tonight. I didn't take an anatomy class so, shhhh. 🤫... Let him feel handsome.

I'm gonna have some fun with this!

abstract glass renders I made to soothe my eyeballs in 3ds max with the free Arnold renderer. No ai. Renders took 10-12 mins each at 1920x1080

I make renders like these occasionally, it's fun to see what kinda pretty pictures you can make just with basic primitives, lights, and materials.

All this is is a bunch of smoothed 3d pipe shapes with a glass material with the dispersion cranked all the way up.

Thought it'd make nice pc/phone wallpapers!

Created my home office in Unreal Engine 5! My plan is to use it to see where I can arrange my desk / furniture before I move stuff in real life :)

Made everything from scratch with 3ds Max, Substance Designer / Painter.

Still missing my chair and the mouse and other various clutter.

The pics on the wall are photos I took myself in Pittsburgh in 2019.

Unreal gets a lot of hate, but it's new real time lighting system Lumen is awesome for Arch-Viz!

This took several days of me running around my room measuring EVERYTHING with a ruler to be modeled to scale in centimeters.

No AI was used in the making!

Showed up in the office in Boss-Town for the first time for work :) Never thought I'd enjoy being in an office so much. I took Amtrak to get there, passed through some neat places on the way including Harper's Ferry, where I accidentally snapped a photo of a cool faded giant advertisement for an old talcum powder company when I thought I was just photographing some neat rocks.

I gotta go back to Boston four times a year, so please hit me up if you happen to be there!
