Final grad post…even though it’s a bit late…a lot a bit. Class of ‘26 was the last of the high school people I really knew, most of the drumline kids I think of as a little bit of my own, I’ve seen them all grow since they were freshmen, some since 8th grade, and I like to think I helped/had a decently sized chunk in it. That makes this class probably the most emotional I’ll be for a graduating class, I’ve seen them go through strife, triumph, and everything in between. I can’t wait to see what they do in this next chapter of life, and keep an eye on how they each go their own separate ways.

This also closes a big chapter in my life too, PHHS. With my dad retiring and my mom on his heels (hopefully), all these kids graduating is super symbolic for me, being on the floor, seeing them all walk in and out with their gowns and remembering a lot of them as youngsters, I can reflect on how much time I put into giving them tough love, guidance, and advice whenever they needed. I couldn’t have been more grateful for a group of people to know, and to know them for what is my last year being apart of any PHHS organization. I love yall, keep in touch, don’t be a stranger, and do what you love, not what the world tells you to love.

Now my sister is also graduating in this class, which is crazy to think about, I remember when I was still in high school she was just a freshmen or sophomore, and the time has flown by. We may not have always seen eye to eye, for the better part of always, that is. But I’ve always, always had her back, even if it didn’t seem like it, I would go to war for you if I had to. I love ya grace and I’m super proud of how much you’ve grown, from the middle school gripes, to the online schooling at aunt b’s, and now watching you from a distance grow and figure out who you are. It’s all been a journey for us both, and you’re finally turning a page in your book where we’re both gonna be on the same page for a while. I can’t wait to share this chapter for you, get closer as big bro and lil sis, and grow with instead of against each other. Well there’s another DCI camp in the books, no contract but I feel like this was more than that. 44 snares including myself, but the best part was the people I met, which i unfortunately got no flicks with. Being able to say how much I stepped out of my comfort zone. 4 flights after not having been on one since I was 10, and going all the way to Utah and honestly trying my best, knowing the music, and leaving with no regrets. I WILL be back next season. I WILL get a contract. Don’t count me out til im aged out. Peace ✌️ by @ethanbones7
