Reflecting heavily on the European Hip Hop Studies (EHHS) Conference I attended and presented at 2 months ago back in March.

WOW, what a week. So many amazing people, brains and discussions. Who coulda imagined little ole me leaving my study abroad in Santiago, Chile (this alone is crazy) to go and present in Groningen, Netherlands comparing 90s conscious rap from Santiago and NYC? I’m so thankful for Fendy, MP, MMUF, and all the amazing people I met and those who have supported/pushed me to this point: being the youngest presenter at an international academic conference (and holding my own!) in a museum with a (Dutch) Hip Hop History exhibit 🤯.

Thinking back on that Valpo Love.

So many new friends and adventures on this solo trip. Shoutout to the all the artists and their amazing art, to Nelson and Esteban for trusting me (fuimos a la chucha), Halley and Nam and Mattia for coming to my surf lesson and convincing me to stay an extra day, and allllll of the empanadas I ate (still need more).

What a blessing to go on a 5 day backpacking trip, my first one and at a bucket list location! Shoutout to all my friends on the trail and the newly engaged Australian couple. I love hiking but not necessarily wearing the same clothes each day. ¡Tienes que aprovechar la oportunidad!
