Throwing it back to Saturday 10th October, when I took part in the Take On The Tower Superhero Abseil off Belfast City Hospital! It was a brilliant day and something I’m really proud to have been part of, while also helping out with Belfast Activity Centre throughout the day as part of my training to become an instructor. It was fantastic to help raise awareness of the phenomenal work Friends of the Cancer Centre do, and to see 60 brave participants take on the abseil throughout the day was truly special!

One thing I didn’t even realise until I looked back at the photos was that in two of them I wasn’t actually looking at the camera, and in one, I even had my eyes shut! I genuinely thought I was looking straight at the camera at the time!

Looking back, I think the sunshine, the concentration and the fact I was standing over the edge at such a height might have had something to do with it! 🤣

Another little challenge was that, although I’m right-handed, I was set up left-handed for the abseil, so I had to concentrate that bit harder and get used to doing things differently. It was a good reminder that sometimes stepping outside your comfort zone means adapting, trusting the process and giving something new a go.

Despite the funny photo moments, I wouldn’t change the experience. These three photos capture different parts of the day and will always remind me of pushing myself, taking on a new challenge and enjoying the moment even if I wasn’t quite camera-ready every time! 🤣

Sometimes the best memories aren’t about getting the perfect picture, but about having the experience in the first place!

Here’s to the next challenge, whatever comes next! 🙌🏻💜 taken in Belfast City Hospital by @ethanredofficial

Another qualification finally achieved and ticked off!

Over the moon to have just completed my 16-hour REC Outdoor First Aid qualification over two days at Belfast Activity Centre on Monday and Tuesday this week.

We definitely covered a lot over the two days, including CPR and AEDs, dealing with unconscious casualties, choking, bleeding, injuries, illness, anaphylaxis and EpiPens, as well as managing incidents in an outdoor environment where medical help may be delayed.

We also got plenty of practical experience using equipment from a first aid kit, including different bandaging techniques, dressings and slings, as well as working through different real-life scenarios and putting everything we had learned into practice.

I’m really thankful to Belfast Activity Centre for giving me the opportunity to complete the course. It’s another stepping stone and qualification that I’m really glad to have under my belt, and another step alongside BAFTAA (Building A Future Through Adventurous Activities), which I’m currently working through.

BAFTAA is giving me the opportunity to build my skills and experience across outdoor activities, learn from experienced instructors and work towards the possibility of becoming an instructor myself in the future.

It’s been a really enjoyable couple of days and another step forward in building my knowledge, skills and confidence within the outdoor industry!

I’m now a Registered REC First Aid Provider, with the qualification valid for the next three years.

Proud of what I’ve achieved so far and excited for what’s to come. Here’s to whatever happens next! taken in Belfast Activity Centre by @ethanredofficial

What a day it was helping out & being part of the final 2026 abseil down the Europa Hotel Belfast!💙

Thankfully, it turned out to be such a nice day, meeting so many incredible individuals helping raise vital awareness & funds for many amazing charities. Even if the fire alarm ended up going off twice haha! 😂

I’m absolutely exhausted after such a mental day, but I genuinely wouldn’t change it for the world!

Excited for what’s to come… watch this space! 👀 by @ethanredofficial

All I can say is hopefully Twisty and his many friends won’t decide to keep you locked inside Crumlin Road Gaol for eternity! 😈

I was incredibly grateful to be invited to Stormont today for the launch of the All-Party Group on Suicide Prevention’s inquiry into cross-departmental funding for suicide prevention in Northern Ireland.

This issue means an enormous amount to me personally. As a suicide survivor, I’ve lost many people I care about to suicide, and as someone who is neurodivergent, I know how important it is that people like me have a voice, are listened to and supported in ways that work for us!

Being invited today meant so much, particularly after over 6 years and 5 months as a PAPYRUS Mental Health Champion and Community Ambassador. PAPYRUS became a huge part of my life, and I’ve been proud to use my lived experience to raise awareness, challenge stigma and advocate for better suicide prevention and mental health support across Northern Ireland.

The past couple of weeks have made this work feel even more significant following PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide going into administration two weeks ago today!

Whatever the future looks like, I hope we can build on the work already done, value lived experience and volunteers, and ensure suicide prevention remains a priority across government and our communities.

One of the most special moments today was hearing Órlaithí Flynn MLA, Chair of the All-Party Group on Suicide Prevention, speak about PAPYRUS and its volunteers in her opening remarks. She kept looking towards me in the front row and smiling!

Afterwards, Órlaithí gave me the biggest hug and told me how much she loved seeing me there, that I play a special part, and that seeing my face had genuinely brightened her day. That meant more to me than I can say.

There is still so much work to do….

For everyone who has struggled.
For everyone we’ve lost.
For everyone who is still here.

Suicide prevention, mental health, lived experience and neurodivergent voices like my own must continue to be part of the conversation. I’ll continue playing my small part to ensure our voices aren’t forgotten! 💜

What a day it was today taking on the Europa Hotel Abseil with Belfast Activity Centre.

It’s safe to say, being up there was a bit surreal, but I’m so glad I went for it & pushed myself. It was so lovely getting the opportunity to help out with today as part of the training I’ve been doing through the BAFTTA course, with the hope of taking on a position as an outdoor instructor in the not too distant future.

It was so much fun getting to take on the abseil myself before we were fully open to all the groups booked in today! Even though I’m absolutely exhausted, I wouldn’t change it in a heartbeat! 🧗‍♂️❤️ @belfastactivitycentre by @ethanredofficial

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day 2026!

I wanted to take a moment to speak about something that matters deeply to me.

This year’s message is “Changing the Narrative on Suicide: Start the Conversation.”

I know that talking about suicide can feel uncomfortable. Sometimes we don’t know what to say. Sometimes we’re scared of saying the wrong thing. And sometimes we’re simply afraid to ask the question.

But what if starting that conversation could be the thing that helps someone feel able to say, “I’m not okay”?

You don’t need to have all the answers.

You don’t need the perfect words.

Sometimes, you just need to ask. And then listen.

So today, think of someone you haven’t checked in on for a while.

Send them that message.

Make that call.

Ask them how they’re really doing.

Because changing the narrative around suicide isn’t something that happens somewhere else, or because of someone else.

It starts with us.

Start the conversation! 💜

If this conversation brings something up for you, please know that support is available. You don’t have to face it alone.

Today is a really difficult day! 💜

I honestly don’t know how to put this into words.

After 6 years and 5 months volunteering with PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide, I received the news today that the charity has entered administration and, with immediate effect, volunteers have been asked to cease all volunteering activity.

PAPYRUS has been such a huge part of my life. Over the years I’ve volunteered at countless stalls, events and fundraising activities, completed a huge amount of training including my ASIST training, taken part in media opportunities, spoken to members of the public about suicide prevention and, most importantly, been part of something that exists to make sure young people know that they are not alone.

I’ve met some incredible people along the way and had experiences that I genuinely never could have imagined when I first started volunteering over six years ago.

To suddenly be told to stop something that has been such a big part of my life is incredibly difficult to process. I feel heartbroken, lost and honestly quite speechless.

Six years and five months. Countless stalls. Countless events. So much training. So many conversations. So many memories. One cause that I will always care about.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to properly put into words what PAPYRUS has meant to me. 💜

Whatever happens next for PAPYRUS, I will always be incredibly proud to have been a part of it.

Thank you to every person who has been part of my PAPYRUS journey from the staff, volunteers, supporters, fundraisers and everyone I’ve met along the way.

And most importantly, thank you to PAPYRUS for giving me the opportunity to use my voice to help spread a message that I will always believe in:

Young lives are worth fighting for! 💜

This may be the end of my volunteering with Papyrus for now, but it will never erase the memories, experiences, friendships and lessons I’ve taken from the last 6 years and 5 months.

Thank you, Papyrus! 💜 by @ethanredofficial

🤼‍♂️ A NEW JOURNEY BEGINS 🔥

Today I officially started my 20-week journey into professional wrestling with Titanic Wrestling!

My first session was definitely a challenge from learning different front, back and shoulder rolls and how to take falls, alongside other tasks, and even completing 100 burpees before the session fully started! 😂💀

It’s definitely a lot harder than it looks, but I gave it everything I had and honestly loved it. There may have been a few occasions where my head seemed to have a personal attraction to the canvas, but that’s all part of learning!

I’m hoping to make it through all 20 weeks, or as many as I’m physically able to, and I’m genuinely so excited to see what I can learn, how I can develop and where this journey could take me.

Day 1 complete with 20 weeks ahead. Let’s see where this journey takes me! by @ethanredofficial

Words can’t describe how much fun I had on set today for When We Meet, written by the phenomenal Gary Duffy. It was definitely a very early start for me, but personally, it was worth every single second! 🎥

The many connections I made, catching up with friends from previous projects, and most importantly, the atmosphere and energy on set were absolutely second to none!

I’m beyond honoured and privileged to know someone as special as Gary, and getting the opportunity to play a small part in his newest short film truly means more to me than I could ever put into words!

Watch this space for some very exciting updates coming VERY soon! 🎥✨

Hi folks, hope everyone is keeping well!

I’m super excited to announce that I’ve been offered, and have accepted, a place on the BAFTAA (Building A Future Through Adventurous Activities) Instructor Trainee Programme facilitated by Belfast Activity Centre!

Throughout the next 6 months, I’ll be working towards a wide range of qualifications while gaining valuable hands-on experience within the outdoor education sector, including:

• OCN NI Level 1 Certificate in Vocational Skills
• 2-Day Outdoor First Aid
• Mountain Skills (required for Mountain Leader Assessment & DofE Expedition work)
• British Canoeing Paddle Awards
• Paddlesport Safety & Rescue
• National Governing Body (NGB) logged training days, gaining valuable experience towards future instructor qualifications in paddlesports, mountain leadership and climbing.

As part of the programme, I’ll also have the opportunity to gain a range of internal Belfast Activity Centre sign-offs, including delivering Team Building & Challenge sessions, developing independent session delivery skills in Bushcraft & Orienteering, and potentially becoming a Centre Activity Assistant, supporting activities such as climbing, caving and mountain biking.

Towards the end of the programme, I’ll also have the opportunity to plan and complete my own expedition to a location of my choice within the UK or Ireland, which I’m really looking forward to!

Upon successful completion of the programme, I’ll be eligible to join the Belfast Activity Centre Casual Instructor Bank, with the potential to progress into seasonal instructor opportunities for the 2027 season.

As many of you already know, I also hold a Level 2 Qualification in Youth Work, so I’m really excited to combine that experience with outdoor education, adventure learning and leadership.

This opportunity marks another exciting step towards achieving that goal, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone at Belfast Activity Centre for believing in me and giving me this amazing opportunity.

I honestly can’t wait to get started and see where this new adventure takes me!

Words can’t describe how I’m feeling after three incredibly special performances over two days with the amazing team behind Taylormania – The Taylor Swift Era Tribute Concert at the beautiful Grand Opera House Belfast. As I always say, it’s basically my second home at this point I might as well move in! 😂💖

A huge thank you to the phenomenal Katy Ellis. It was such an honour watching you perform across all three shows. Your kindness, talent and the impact you’ve had on me is something I’ll never forget.

To the superstar that is Cam, thank you for making these last two days so special. From keeping me busy selling programmes & raffle tickets to letting me shadow the lighting & sound departments, every opportunity meant the world to me. Being invited on stage for the final Belfast group photo is a memory I’ll treasure forever!

To the incredible band and dancers, thank you for bringing so much energy, joy and talent to every single performance. It was a privilege meeting such an amazing group of people.

Thank you all as well for the incredibly thoughtful gifts. They were completely unexpected & truly meant so much to me.

This weekend reminded me of something I’ve always believed: what’s meant for you won’t pass you by. This industry comes with plenty of rejection, but sometimes all it takes is one “yes” to open the door to endless opportunities like this weekend!

Here’s to whatever comes next! ❤️✨
