A day I never would’ve pictured happening so early on in my life. When we first started this journey, of your battle with cancer, we knew it wouldn’t be easy. That this day today, was inevitable to come. We were in a hospital room in Sarasota, a doctor came in and said, “you were dead” and were given a short period of time to live. That you had stage IV liver/rectal cancer and there was nothing they could do. Yet here we are, 2 years later, disproving everything those doctors said. In these past 2 years and in my lifetime with you, you showed me how strong and brave you were, to go through everything that you did, being dealt a bad hand time and time again, and still getting up everyday with the same positive outlook on life. How hard you fought until you couldn’t, everything cancer had stripped away from you piece by piece until there was nothing more it could take. You’ve shown me how to appreciate everything in life even when it’s kicking your ass. So many good things to say about you, I aspire to be like you in so many ways. As heartbreaking as it is, I’m thankful, for I may have never gotten so close with you, to get to know everything about you, and to make so many memories with you throughout the time we had shared together. I’ll never understand why this had to happen to you, to me, to our family, everything happens for a reason but this one I don’t think I’ll ever understand. At least you can now rest in eternal peace, no more pain or suffering. I find peace knowing that you’re in a better place now, even if that place is not here with us. I’ll see you on the other side one day, for what will feel like an eternity for me would have only been a few seconds for you. I’ll look for you everywhere I go, I’ll live for you and through you everyday. So many people you’re leaving behind, you were so loved, you never met a stranger. So many things you just won’t be here to see, but I know you’ll be up above, watching over and looking out for me everyday. I will never stop missing you, I love you with everything I have Dad❤️ may you rest in peace🕊️ by @ethansnyd1
