Meet Crystal, a gentle 14-year-old Pomeranian girl whose golden years have suddenly become uncertain. In the quiet corners of the Castaic Animal Care Center, she waits, confused about how she ended up here when she should be resting safely in a loving home.

“ I know I’m older now, “ Crystal might say softly. “My body isn’t as strong as it once was, and I have a few health issues. The Shelter even offered to help cover my medical care so my family wouldn’t have to surrender me…but in the end, here I am.”

14 years is a lifetime of love, loyalty, and quiet, companionship. Dogs her age should be curled up on soft blankets, napping in warm sunbeams, and hearing gentle voices telling them they are still the most precious girl in the world. Instead, Crystal sits in a kennel, wondering if anyone will see past her tired eyes.

She isn’t asking for much now – – just a soft place to land, a warm bed, a gentle hand, and someone willing to let her spend her remaining days feeling safe and loved again.

Please….Crystal should not be here at this age. If there is room in your heart for a senior soul who still has so much love to give, she is waiting.🐾💔 by @etherealcompassion

Hot Off the Press 📰🐾🐈

This portrait was created, and I was adopted before it could even be posted – talk about purr-fect timing!

Hi world, I’m Macky, # A5746802 formally of Castaic Animal Care Center and I’m absolutely elated to announce that I’ve found my forever home.♥️♥️

To every kind soul who made me feel loved, safe, and seen while I waited – thank you from the bottom of my furever grateful heart. I felt it all, and it made the wait worth it.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have laps to claim and naps to schedule.🛏️💤🐾

Love Always,
Macky🐾 by @etherealcompassion
