Motherhood happened when I was ready for it, but in the most playful way possible, through a situation that didn’t feel very funny to me at the time. She is our miracle.

And if you chose to experience motherhood but can’t get there yet, please know that it is possible for you in the physical realm. You are enough and you are complete. You are good with it and without it.

It’s a strange game. So don’t get desperate. Do not fear. 🤍 by @etherjulia

I’m so forever thankful to be able to say, “I didn’t miss a single moment of my baby growing up.”

I cannot imagine the cruelty of separating a baby from their mother—from their entire world of comfort, safety, love, and care—at such an early age.

Maternity leave can be as short as 3–4 months in some European countries. My heart breaks for all mothers and their babies who have to be separated, no matter the age. This is not a judgment of mothers who have no other choice. I just wish our society were built differently, so that staying close to our babies wasn’t a privilege.

We are not designed to live like that.

Living as nature intended is the greatest gift from God. We’ve torn so much of it apart and called it normal, and then we wonder what has gone wrong with our world.

Being able to raise my child slowly, closely, and according to what I believe in is an enormous privilege, hard work, and my own small contribution to the kind of world I want to see.

And I want to say this too: I wasn’t simply granted this life. I built it slowly and thoughtfully, through the choices I made along the way. I’ve lived with very little money, so for me, this was never about having enough money to choose differently. It was about deciding what mattered to me and building my life around it, even when that wasn’t the easiest or most conventional path. I don’t share this to say that everyone can or should make the same choices, but perhaps to be an example of having the courage to question what is considered normal and choose differently when you can, make bold moves sometimes too. by @etherjulia

Can I just share what I love most without a hook?

I applied a few techniques that I teach in my masterclass to decorate this piece and enhance its form. It’s glazed only on the inside.

Would you like to try this and discover how many possibilities there are beyond glazes? 🧚🏼‍♀️ by @etherjulia

Our road trip is coming to an end.

We discovered so many interesting, beautiful places, met incredible, warm people, heard countless stories. We lived it.

We watched our daughter grow, an unstoppable force.

We were sometimes too tired.

We argued and made peace. Understood a little more about where we want to go, and what we want to explore further. Spent more money than we ever imagined. Doubted the whole point of the trip — and then saw it.

We found inspiration and hope again.

We are bringing it home.

And we will build our new home somewhere else, in the future. by @etherjulia

Better late than never — I wanted to leave my full birth story here. I’ve always been fascinated by birth stories, and I love reading and listening to other women share theirs. This is mine. 🦦 by @etherjulia

Kazbegi is a bit crowded, messy — but the mountains don’t seem to notice. Up here, it’s just space, and the biggest feeling of freedom I’ve had in a long time. I’d been dreaming about the Caucasus and horses, and we met so many of them at every turn. My cup is full, truly. by @etherjulia

I hear so many parents saying that babywearing just didn’t work for them. And honestly, most of the time, it’s because the carrier wasn’t the right fit for them or their baby.

When a carrier doesn’t provide proper support or a truly ergonomic position, it can feel uncomfortable for both of you. But when it’s the right one, worn correctly and nice and snug, it can completely change the experience.

These are some of the most common babywearing mistakes I keep seeing:

• Wearing the carrier too loose
• Baby placed too low
• No physiological M-position
• Baby’s face covered by fabric
• Chin tucked onto the chest, compromising the airway
• Forward-facing
• Choosing unsafe and uncomfortable types of carriers that shouldn’t be invented at first place

If you’re feeling confused, my biggest recommendation is to try a good woven wrap (not a stretchy one) and learn how to use it properly. I had a consultation with a certified babywearing consultant very early on, and it gave me so much confidence, comfort, and peace of mind knowing that I was carrying Yasmin safely and comfortably.

This beautiful wrap was kindly gifted by @vatanai_cz , it’s incredibly supportive even now with my 7 kg baby and it’s just a piece of art! For me, nothing compares to a woven wrap.

I’ve completely fallen down the babywearing rabbit hole and could happily talk about it for hours, so if you have any questions, leave them below. ♥️

Babywearing has given me so much more than free hands. It has given me closeness, countless long naps, quiet walks, time to create, and moments I’ll never get back. This season is so incredibly short, and one day you’ll realize your baby no longer falls asleep on your chest quite as often. by @etherjulia

We’re crossing 10 countries by car with a 5 month old baby so she can meet my parents for the first time. We’re crazy, and we’re driving all the way from Portugal to Georgia, staying in some very special places that I carefully chose for this memorable trip. Many of them are historic homes full of character, although not all are included here. I’ll also be adding a new highlight called “Road Trip”, where I’ll share more about how we’re managing such a journey with a small baby.

The vase you see here is a piece I finished just before we left home. I brought it with us so it could touch many beautiful lands, be photographed along the way, and gather stories to tell. by @etherjulia

Yasmin is 4 months old today, on the solstice. The day the sun lingers longest. I think she knows something about that — she fills every hour. 🌞

Somehow, it feels like she was always with us, yet I still can’t believe I’m her mama. She is our miracle and she is showing us the way. by @etherjulia

I started tracking my baby’s sleep out of curiosity, and very soon I was obsessed with numbers and all the knowledge on baby sleep because I love to dive deep.

She was sleeping well and going through the night just fine. Honestly, nothing was wrong, and I made myself believe I needed to fix something that wasn’t broken in the first place.

I feared overtiredness like it was fire. I was stressing everyone around me — for no real reason.
She had been developing fast. Then came the hot weather, the rolling at three months, the sleep maturing… So we were both tired by four months.

At some point I realized: this desire to control had turned me into someone I didn’t want to be. I couldn’t stay sane anymore. I was snapping at my husband, and the worst part, getting annoyed while trying to put my baby to sleep at the “perfect” window, as if everything would fall apart otherwise.

I deleted the tracking app in the middle of that madness and felt immediate relief. I let her follow her natural rhythm — which, it turns out, she had already developed on her own, long before I started interfering.
The biggest thing I lost by tracking is that I was looking at numbers instead of looking at her. Reading data instead of reading my baby. And that connection, that attunement — that’s the whole thing. That’s what actually matters.

Big lesson. Won’t forget it. by @etherjulia
