Без английского моя жизнь была бы совершенно другой.

Без английского не было бы поездки в США, где я не только работала и путешествовала, но и сидела на кухне с университетскими подругами моей мамы, слушая их истории.

Не было бы веселого лета в Болгарии и работы в отеле.

Турции и опыта работы гидом с туристами из разных стран.

Не было бы Грузии, где я на английском учила кататься на сноуборде людей со всего мира и даже носителей языка. Я тогда почти уехала делать то же самое в Новую Зеландию, но случился ковид.

Не было бы Вьетнама, где я уже сама учила английскому.

И не было бы тысяч моментов в путешествиях, когда язык дарил мне уверенность, друзей и спасал от проблем в самых разных ситуациях.

Английский это пропуск в другую жизнь и возможность выбирать, где жить, кем быть и с кем дружить.

I once heard on a podcast that, as we get older, time seems to speed up.

One reason is that our days become more repetitive. We walk the same streets, follow the same routines, meet the same people, and rarely do anything for the first time.

When your brain doesn’t have many new memories to hold on to, days, weeks, and even months can start to blur together.

Since then I’ve tried to do the opposite: pick up new hobbies, visit new places, learn new things and go out more.

The more experiences you collect, the fuller life feels. And somehow, weeks and months start to slow down again.

Maybe that’s one of the secrets to making life feel a little longer. by @etiennett

I have no idea what’s I’m doing, everything is tangled and complicated just like cristopher Nolan’s movie. But we carry on, keep watching and waiting for some happy end by @etiennett

Bed rot — это когда ты весь день валяешься в кровати, ничего не делаешь и это не лень, а осознанный отдых от всего. Дословно «разлагаться/гнить в кровати».

Тренд использует игру слов, заменяя bed на любое слово - river, grass, canyon, типа «а зачем разлагаться в кровати, если можно разлагаться в каньоне».

To rot тут не про разложение как таковое, а про «залипнуть и ничего не делать», это слово давно живет в сленге именно в этом значении (brain rot, doom rot и так далее). by @etiennett

It’s been three months since I left Vietnam and came back home.
And honestly, they’ve been the quietest months I’ve had in the last three years.

And that’s exactly what I needed.
Back in Vietnam, my nervous system was hanging by a thread. Constant noise, visual overload, a very loud job… it all added up.
There were happy moments too, and I hope one day I’ll find the time to write about them.

Coming back home felt like recovery. Like crawling back into a quiet harbour.

Life here is different. Slower, quieter (quiet like a grave) and sometimes even boring.

I’m working a lot now, and I’m finally focusing on goals I’ve been putting off for a long time, so I guess it’s fine for now.
I feel like I’m in a new, unfamiliar phase of life.

• I’ve learned that I’m a workaholic. I can easily lose balance and work 10–12 hours a day.
• turns out I can actually plan and stick to it (which is new). Though deadlines are still my biggest motivation.
• ticking things off my to-do list has started to feel satisfying.
• and reading has become my safe haven, the only way I can truly switch off. I’m reading more than ever.

But my nervous system… it’s once again working at its limits. I guess some things don’t change
This time, though, it feels like a conscious choice.

I’m just hoping it won’t be for nothing.
That all of this is leading somewhere, to a different chapter of my life. taken in Pyatigorsk by @etiennett

Мы с мамой очень давно хотели сделать ДНК тест. Годами мы задавались вопросом откуда у нас в роду азиатские глаза. Дядя похож на таджика, у меня в детстве были узкие глаза, да и сейчас не сильно широкие. Кто-то, когда-то явно согрешил, но с кем?

Получили ли мы ответы? Частично. У мамы есть какой-то след татаров, у меня - ничего. Что удивительно.
Хочется все же дабл чекнуть и проверить результаты в иностранных базах данных. Надеюсь руки до этого дойдут.

А пока, я на 75% армянка из Грузии, и 25% русская (сюрприз) из Алтая (однако). by @etiennett

This Chinese temple is a peaceful, magical escape in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, filled with tranquil energy.
