Proof of life! It’s been a minute since I posted on here. Life has been LIFING! Kids sports and work keep me busy enough but I’ve also been working on finishing a film I started 5 years ago! It’s been a long journey but seeing a full rough cut of a feature film that started out in my mind as a simple idea that then took dozens of artists and craftspeople to realize is a dream come true. There’s still a lot to do in post with some vfx, color correction, score, sound design and mixing to make it a real movie.

If you’re interested in following the progress we have an account for our production company @themattinglyboys

We had an incredible time celebrating our anniversary as well as the 50th (!!!) anniversary of my in-laws. Family, relaxation, lots of time in the pool/ocean and LOTS of amazing food. If you haven’t had south Indian food, find a restaurant near you and get you some! It’s become one of my favorite cuisines.

Cynthia Hawkes and I made a lot of music together. She was hands down one of my favorite people and artists to collaborate with. She was that rare singer with real chops who was also a REAL EMCEE.

She was always aware that she could easily be pigeon holed as “the girl that sings the hooks” and was very vocal that she was an MC and would take anyone on. So besides her doing hooks for me we rapped together on a number of tracks and she always made me step my game up. She recorded at our studio, we shared a lot stages together and we shared a lot of laughs. Her energy was infectious. A lot of people from BMore to DC got to see her talent but not nearly enough if you ask me.

She’ll be missed by so many that knew her as an artist and as a person.

RIP Cyn Hawkes! ✌️ ❤️
