I dreamt the other night I was giving birth and realized it’s been 9 months since @ennarutt and I conceived of Rest + Recreation 🤣 it’s time to pick coffee cups so we’re getting close, but this big, beautiful baby needs about 6 more weeks to cook!

I bought a dehydrator years ago with visions of crackers and dried vegetables and fruit. Didn’t really use it and it’s been in storage until NOW! Dried citrus slices make great garnish… I’m going to experiment with dehydrating lime with spices next - arbol chili powder, Tajin, etc. Maybe we’ll decorate the tree with dried citrus this year too!

When you WIN so much great stuff for our sidewalk patio area and the movers cancel at the very last minute…. You rent a van and trust the universe to provide what you need to get it all back to the shop! And it worked! THANK YOU to the amazing women who helped me load AND unload!!! Can’t wait to have patio seating!

Chicago has amazing history! These beautiful old wooden pews come from a Methodist church in Austin (that’s an area in Chicago, for my Austin, TX peeps) built in 1918. So, so pretty- they’re going to make excellent seats! #diyseating #chicagocoffeeshop #oldtownchicago taken in Old Town, Chicago by @etransier

Sometimes I get so caught up in manifesting this coffee shop and cocktail bar that I’m surprised when it’s not open for business 😂😂😂

Cardboard cutouts are my life right now 😂 I’m looking forward to replacing them with real equipment and having real people come in vs my imaginary friends I pretend to serve coffee to as I think through workflow! taken in Old Town, Chicago by @etransier
