“Good things come to those who wait. But better things come to those who work for it.”

Over the last 15 years of serving youth athletes, our mission remains: To provide elite performance training for young athletes and build character that lasts for a lifetime.

In 2025, we continue to build on that mission as we expand into new markets nationwide and take our service to the next level.

Let’s fuel the fire, push the boundaries, and redefine what’s possible 🔥

Tate Myre was an incredible athlete, leader, friend, and mentor. He was a beloved member of the ETS Family and his community in Oxford, MI. His life was taken far too soon in a school shooting at Oxford High School on November 30, 2021. The 42 Strong Foundation was formed to create a peer-mentorship program and honor Tate’s Legacy. Their mission is to create a better future by helping students develop a greater sense of purpose, community, and resilience.

ETS will be hosting the second-annual 4-2 Day in honor of Tate Myre on April 2, 2024. On this day we will be hosting a special workout to create a greater sense of community and purpose among athletes across all ETS locations.

In preparation for this special day, we are also partnering with 42 Strong and UNRL to bring a limited edition ETS x 42 Strong T-shirt. T-shirts will be available for sale from 2/12 – 2/18. 100% of the proceeds from T-shirt sales will be donated to 42 Strong (The Tate Myre Foundation). We ask that all ETS family members wear their T-shirts on 4/2/24.

T-shirts can be purchased at: https://unrl.com/collections/ets-performance

Thank you for your consideration in joining us to make a positive impact and honor Tate’s legacy.

Why do we warm up before stretching?

Stretching is an important part of improving mobility and maintaining the range of motion athletes need to move efficiently. But when we stretch can be just as important as how we stretch.

When athletes first walk into the gym, their muscles haven’t yet been prepared for the demands of training. Rather than immediately jumping into deep stretches, we start by getting the body moving, gradually increasing muscle temperature, and preparing the joints to move through a greater range of motion.

As muscle temperature increases, movement becomes more comfortable and athletes can typically access greater ranges of motion. That’s why we prioritize light movement before progressing into our mobility work and dynamic stretches.

There’s also a difference between static stretching and dynamic stretching. Static stretching involves holding a position for an extended period, while dynamic stretching involves actively moving through a range of motion. Before sprinting, jumping, or lifting explosively, we typically prioritize dynamic movements that prepare athletes for those activities. Longer static stretches are generally better suited for after training or dedicated flexibility work.

The goal isn’t just to become more flexible. It’s to develop mobility athletes can actually control and use when sprinting, cutting, jumping, and competing.

Training is always better when you have people pushing you to be your best.

One of the best parts of training at ETS is the environment and the people you get to share it with. Whether you’re competing against each other, encouraging each other through a tough workout, or just having fun, training with friends brings a different level of energy and helps everyone continue to get better.

This week is Bring a Friend week at ETS!! It’s the perfect opportunity to bring someone new into the gym, show them what ETS is all about, and get better together.

Keep showing up. Keep pushing each other. Keep making the people around you better.

This week’s #FeatureFriday goes to Kenley H. and Keelyn F.!

These two have been absolutely on fire this fall! Showing up consistently, putting in the work, and continuing to see results because of it.

Both Kenley and Keelyn are ready to go at 5:45 AM every week, and they continue to impress us with the way they push themselves and each other.

They’re more proof that even during the season, athletes can continue making progress with dedication and consistency.

We’re all incredibly proud of the work you two have put in and can’t wait to see where that work ethic takes you both!

This week’s #FeatureFriday goes to Morgan H. and Kailynn G.!

These two have absolutely CRUSHED the first month of the school year. Not only have they continued to show up consistently week after week, but they continue to push themselves and each other harder every time they walk into the gym.

The improvements we’ve seen from both of these girls have been incredible, and they aren’t done yet!

That determination and consistency is what sets athletes like Morgan and Kailynn apart. They show up, compete, put in the work, and continue finding ways to get better.

Keep it up, you two! The best is still ahead!

Why do we train the ankles and calves?

When we talk about getting faster and more explosive, it’s easy to focus on the bigger muscles. But every sprint, jump, cut, and landing ultimately involves transferring force through the foot and ankle.

Strong calves and ankles help athletes produce and handle force quickly, create stiffness when contacting the ground, and maintain control through repeated sprints, jumps, and changes of direction.

That’s why you’ll see us use a variety of calf raises, isometrics, pogos, hops, and other lower-leg exercises throughout our programs.

They might not be the biggest exercises in the workout, but developing strong, reactive lower legs can make a big difference in how an athlete moves.

This week’s #FeatureFriday goes to Hallie S.!

Hallie started training with us about six months ago after undergoing ACL reconstruction with one goal in mind: getting back on the court for her senior volleyball season. She knew there was a chance there wouldn’t be enough time, but that never changed the way she approached her recovery.

For six months, Hallie showed up, put in the work, and continued pushing forward. Last night, all of that work paid off.

Not only did she step back onto the court, she exceeded expectations. Diving, cutting, jumping, making play after play, and helping her team win!

But what has impressed us most throughout this process goes far beyond her recovery. Even when Hallie couldn’t be on the court herself, she never stopped encouraging her teammates. She stayed involved, supported the people around her, and leaned into what it means to be a leader.

The reaction from her teammates when they found out she was starting the second set, followed by the cheers from the crowd when she stepped onto the court, said everything about the impact she has made on the people around her.

Hallie, we are incredibly proud of the work you’ve put in, the way you’ve carried yourself throughout this process, and everything you accomplished last night. Keep improving, keep helping your team win, and keep showing everyone around you what it means to work hard and lead.

Why do we use Lateral Lunge Variations?

Athletes don’t just move forward and backward. Cutting, changing direction, defending, landing, and reacting all require athletes to be strong and controlled moving side to side.

Lateral lunge variations are a great way to build strength through the hips while challenging athletes to control their knee, hip, and trunk in positions they constantly find themselves in during sports.

Building strength and stability through these positions helps athletes absorb force, control their body, and produce force back in the opposite direction. These are all important pieces of changing direction efficiently.

We use different lateral lunge variations based on the athlete, their training phase, and what we’re trying to develop.

Get strong in every direction. Be prepared to move in every direction.
