I’m still trying to process everything that has happened over the past month.

A week bedridden in London. Three weeks in two hospitals back in SG. A nasty viral infection. Then, a massive internal haemorrhage that almost took my life last weekend.

While Singapore celebrated her 61st birthday, I was in the ER watching my BP drop every second, passing in and out as I continued to lose blood profusely. By the end of the night, I had lost more than a litre of blood and needed eight bags of blood to be transfused.

I’ve never been so terrified. For the first time in my life, I truly thought I might not make it. I pleaded with the doctors to save me, and told my closest friends to take care of my parents if anything happened.

I wasn’t ready to die.

For hours, my ICU room was filled with doctors and nurses, working against the clock to keep me alive. Eventually, I was rushed into the OT for emergency surgery.

After what felt like forever, I heard someone calling my name. I opened my eyes. “You are ok.”

It was 4am. 9 hours after I was rushed to the hospital.
I was alive.

What happened has changed my perspective in ways I never expected. It made me realise just how fragile life is, and how quickly everything can change.

To the medical teams at SGH and TTSH who took such good care of me throughout this whole time, especially the TTSH team who fought to save my life that night. And to those who donated blood that helped keep me alive. I have no words, only gratitude.

Finally going home today.

There’s still something that requires very close monitoring, with more scans and doctors’ visits ahead. But for now, I’m taking things one day at a time, focusing on the positive, taking things slow, and giving my body the time it needs to heal.

I’m just very grateful I made it through. by @eugenekzy

Talk about being in the right place at the right time. 🇪🇸✨

I arrived in Madrid and witnessed the city erupt into celebration after Spain’s World Cup triumph. From the sea of red and yellow to the deafening cheers, waving flags, singing, dancing, and one unforgettable trophy parade, the atmosphere was simply electric beyond words.

What a privilege to witness a nation celebrating such a historic moment. Congratulations, Spain, on becoming World Champions for the 2nd time! 🏆❤️💛

Gracias, Madrid, for the memories. This is a trip I’ll never forget. by @eugenekzy

Richmond was nothing like I expected, and it honestly didn’t feel like London at all.

Quieter streets, slower paced, and everything just felt so much lighter. The air somehow felt fresher, the hills rolled endlessly, and nature was almost everywhere you looked.

Sometimes all you need is to step a little further away from the city to realise there’s a completely different side of it waiting to be explored. A whole new vibe, and one I’ll definitely be coming back for. 🌲🪾🍁 🦌 🦆🦜🪵🍃🛶 by @eugenekzy

Seven Sisters was simply unreal.

A 22.5km hike from Seaford to Eastbourne, 7 hours on foot, something I’d do again in a heartbeat. I lost count of the number of times I stopped just to take in the breathtaking beauty around me. Every step was so absolutely worth it. I’m so glad I made it here.

Found myself smiling throughout the hike, feeling grateful, so liberated and completely free. For those few hours, the rest of the world felt far away. That day reminded me of how beautiful our planet is. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is get lost in it, be fully present and simply take it all in. 🩵

Simply one of the BEST hikes I’ve ever done. Just a 2-hour train ride from central London, it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Make sure to add this to your itinerary when you’re in London… your legs may complain, but your soul will thank you for it. 💕😉🏞️🌅✨

Feeling ridiculously fulfilled. Give me music, theatre, and the arts, and I’m one happy human.
There’s so much art in this city you’ll never get bored a single minute.

39.

More than anything, I’m feeling grateful.
Grateful for the people in my life, for the experiences that have shaped me, and for another year to keep learning, growing and loving.

As I get older, my wishes have become much simpler. I wish for my loved ones to be happy and healthy. I wish for peace in a world that often feels so divided. And I wish for all of us to choose kindness a little more.

We need more love, more compassion and more understanding now than ever.

Life isn’t perfect, but today I’m choosing gratitude. ❤️ by @eugenekzy
