I know. You've seen them, you've seen them maybe 1000 times now, but would you just reindulge me for one tiny second? Scotland are still in the running and I still have things to say about this shoot!

It was the first time I'd styled anything of this scale, and the thought of dressing 7 people was pretty daunting at first; somehow it all came together semi cohesively and I'm sooooo so chuffed with the response. I couldn't have done it without dream team @stilldresden and @charlottecullenn - thanks for putting your faith in me 💌

When I was putting these looks together I was thinking a lot about Scottish dandyism, feeling "gallus", how that might translate into Scottish football support today and the looks the Tartan Army are consistently turning on match day. Obviously it goes without saying that Scotland are really good at football and are going to win the world cup which is extremely exciting, but this is as good an opportunity as any to celebrate everything Scotland has to offer! Did you know we're also the most stylish, funniest and best looking country in the world? If you didn't before, now you do 💋

Glasgow Plays Ball! As the World Cup gets underway, this photo story – magicked up by @euphorabetic @charlottecullenn & @stilldresden – is a tribute to @scotlandnationalteam’s return to the pitch for the first time in 28 years.

Shot across some of Glasgow’s much loved locations, including The Laurieston, The Barras Market and Petershill Football Complex, the story brings together a cast of local artists, musicians and community figures, including rapper Bemz, Still Game’s Sanjeev Kohli and Gender Goals, Scotland’s first trans and non-binary football club.

As Scotland celebrates its return to the World Cup – and a first tournament victory already under its belt – the atmosphere across the country is impossible to ignore. Blue shirts hang from pub windows, flags flutter from tenement flats, and for the first time in a generation, Scotland's presence on football's biggest stage feels tangible. But while much of the conversation has centred on the game itself, Glasgow Plays Ball asks a different question: what does Scotland look like off the football pitch? ⚽️⁠

PRESENTING: GLASGOW PLAYS BALL ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿— a tribute to Scotland for the World Cup

Scotland is diverse. Creative. Full of talent. Community-led. Globally relevant. And football mad.

So what better moment to cheer than the World Cup?

As Scotland prepares for its first World Cup in 28 years, Glasgow Plays Ball is a celebration of identity and style in the best country in the world — Scotland.

We pulled this together as a tribute to a place we love. Working with designers, creatives, musicians, models, footballers and community voices, the editorial assembles a Scottish all-stars cast to fly the flag.

Rapper @bigbemz1, legendary Scottish actor @terminatorsanj, and @gendergoals (Scotland’s first trans + non-binary football club) are among the talent featured.

Shot across iconic locations including The Laurieston Pub, The Barras, and the grounds of Petershill FC and Partick Thistle — whose work in the Glasgow community is vital — every detail of this project has been carefully considered.
