The Natural Hair Project:“Dear brown girls, don’t be afraid to shine. Your hair is beautiful, and your skin is divine ✨🌒🌹”Over the past two weeks I took 20 black women out in nature and set them free. No wigs, no makeup, just their raw natural selves & a camera. The purpose of this project is to showcase the beauty & versatility in natural hair amongst the African American community. As a race we are often ashamed of our natural features, hair being the biggest problem. It’s time to break the cycle! No matter the hair type, length, etc. NATURAL IS BEAUTIFUL. Holding space for Imani was life-changing and served as a major confirmation. The water will always provide a clear reflection, and this is a person who truly embodies her word. Quite literally, in Watsu, we hold you in our heart space. It takes a great deal of trust and vulnerability to join us. This form of aquatic therapy is about surrender. And if our hearts and intentions weren’t pure, this divine alignment wouldn’t have transpired. Imani, we thank you for trusting us to be conduits for your healing journey. Cinematic Visual: “Lover Boy”🌹🥀❤️‍🩹 ...This one is for all the lover boys world wide 🌍❤️‍🔥🥀🌹The moment I heard “lover boy” by the french artist @smeelsgang back in 2021 i knew I had to make a visual for it. I didn’t know exactly how I wanted to do it l, but I knew it had to get done. Fast forward 3 years later and I still felt the same way, so I knew it was time to execute the vision. I had this specific visual in my head for a while and I had to get it out. I started off filming this project by myself with my tripod, but as I filmed the vision continued to grow & I knew I was going to need help to truly bring it to life.I want to give a huge s/o to @media.by.ryu for helping me execute the shots I knew would take this visual over the tops. Teamwork makes the dream work. 🤝🏾It’s been a long time I step in front of the camera in this manner, but it definitely felt good to be back in my element. I promise you all this won’t be the last visual I’ll be in, it’s just the beginning!Over 200 roses were used for the making of this visual 🌹🥀.
