The Ghana-EU Agribusiness Platform of Eurocham, together with the EU Delegation support Ghanaian agribusinesses by providing information on trade, investment, and policy, alongside practical business training. To this end, we are aligning with Ghanaian government programmes, including Grow 24 and the Investment Opportunities Mapping Project (under the 24-Hour Economy Policy and the GIPC, respectively). It is under these premises that we shall deliver a training programme for 50 selected agribusiness representatives.

This half-day intensive workshop, titled “EU Trade & Investment Policies for Ghana’s Agribusiness Sector”, is designed to equip farmers, entrepreneurs, processors, extension officers, and other stakeholders with practical knowledge and actionable strategies to adopt new EU trade, investment, sustainability, and regulatory policies. These include the EU Green Deal, deforestation regulation, corporate sustainability and due diligence directive, food and packaging (SPS, TBT) safety requirements, and market access rules, all of which have significant implications for Ghanaian exporters and investors.

The workshop will take place at the premises of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), whose generous support in hosting this event enables participants to engage in a professional and conducive learning environment.

Ambassador Sinnebach officially began his mission by presenting his Credentials to President @officialjdmahama and Open Letters to Minister of Foreign Affairs, @hon.samuelokudzetoa
Ambassador Skinnebach expressed his excitement to represent the EU in Ghana, stating: “I look forward to further strengthening Ghana-EU relations during my 4-year tenure. Ghana remains a preferred trading partner to the European Union, and our collaboration continues to deepen. We commit ourselves as a partner to Ghana’s future, as evident in our continued commitments on youth, education, and sustainability in Ghana. I will also work to establish the EU as Ghana’s primary security partner, and Ghana’s preferred political partner of choice.”

Yesterday at La Villa Boutique Hotel, with the support of CCIF Ghana, we had the privilege of hosting two representatives from Stafford Law, a law firm specializing in commercial law.

The insightful presentation focused on Corporate Governance, with particular emphasis on the specific roles and responsibilities of company leadership — including directors and the company secretary.

Maame Tutuah Dadson and her colleague highlighted not only the importance of compliance, but also the need for a solid understanding of legal frameworks. This knowledge is essential for effectively managing businesses of all sizes — from startups to large enterprises.

The Q&A session opened up valuable discussions on key topics such as the role of the GRA and current regulations under the GIPC Act. The representatives from Stafford & Law addressed all questions with their usual professionalism and expertise.

The event concluded with a networking refreshment moment, offering participants the chance to connect with the speakers and engage in further dialogue.

This afternoon, on 17 September 2025, we will explore how policies, financing and market opportunities can enable agribusinesses to operate around the clock, grow sustainably and compete globally, with the EU as a trusted partner.

A group of panellists will discuss what it takes for Ghanaian agribusinesses to grow and become strong global players with the EU as a trusted partner.

We have organised two panels of distinguished experts.

The first panel will focus on policy and strategic frameworks, examining how government strategies, flagship programmes such as Grow24 and Feed Ghana, and coordination among public and development partners can facilitate a 24-hour agribusiness economy.

Part 2 will focus on the private sector, finance, and market opportunities — namely, how companies, financiers, entrepreneurs, and trade partners can turn policy into practice and make the 24-hour model a reality.
