From heritage to the future, the BMW 7 Series continues to redefine what luxury can be.

Organised by BMW Asia and co-hosted by BMW Eurokars Auto, the evening brought Progressive Luxury to life, offering guests the opportunity to experience the latest generation alongside the iconic fourth-generation model, a vehicle that holds a special place in the marque’s history.

Reflecting on the marque’s vision of luxury, Mr. Chong Kah Wei shared, “The BMW 7 Series has always represented more than luxury. It reflects progress, ambition, and the pursuit of what comes next, while staying true to the qualities that matter most to our customers.”

Forty-nine years on, the BMW 7 Series still won’t make you choose between driving or being driven.

The updated seventh generation is now in Singapore, and it’s the first existing BMW model to adopt technology from the Neue Klasse. The kidney grille gains an illuminated outline, called Iconic Glow, set between slim crystal headlights. The flanks are cleaner and the tail lamps have been redrawn.

Inside, Panoramic iDrive runs on BMW Operating System X, and a Passenger Screen makes its debut as standard. Rear passengers can add a 31.3-inch Theatre Screen for 8K streaming, gaming or video calls. Audio comes from Bowers & Wilkins, with Dolby Atmos support. A panoramic glass roof and four-zone climate control are standard, and over-the-air updates keep the software current.

Singapore gets two versions, both with the M Sport package and 21-inch wheels. The BMW 735 M Sport pairs a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six with 48V mild hybrid assistance for 286hp and 425Nm, and reaches 100km/h in 6.9 seconds. It costs S$684,888 in VES band C2. The BMW i7 50 xDrive M Sport puts a motor on each axle for 455hp and 660Nm, and gets there in 5.5 seconds. Its 112.5kWh battery uses cylindrical cells from BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive, for a range of up to 728km (WLTP). It costs S$709,888 in VES band A. Prices are correct at this time.

Integral Active Steering is standard and works with adaptive air suspension on both axles. Parking Assistant Professional is also standard, and it can park the car by remote control while you stand outside.

Then there is the paint, which takes its time. BMW Individual Dual-Finish combines a matt lower body with a hand-applied metallic upper and a hand-drawn coachline. More than 20 specialists take each car through 12 stages, and it spends over 75 hours in the paint shop, almost six times as long as a conventional finish. For now, only Dingolfing can do it, and only for the 7 Series.

Students from Pathlight School (Ang Mo Kio) recently visited the Eurokars Aftersales Centre at 27A Tanjong Penjuru for a meaningful job shadow into automotive operations.

Organised by Eurokars PR, Eurokars Services (Body and Paint), and Trans Eurokars Mazda alongside dedicated teachers, the visit introduced students to behind-the-scenes workflows. This builds on an earlier visit last year, to provide students with more hands-on exposure.

Students learned essential workshop safety and standard operating procedures for spray painting and polishing before translating these lessons into hands-on practice. They also applied classroom skills in our parts warehouse by working as pickers and checkers, gathering components by part numbers and verifying accuracy.

Understanding that autism encompasses a wide spectrum of individual strengths and needs, we appreciate how each student navigates different environments at their own pace. Fostering inclusive talent and creating meaningful career opportunities remain central to our values, ensuring that everyone finds a pathway where they can thrive.

Hand-in-hand, Eurokars Group and Pathlight School endeavour to cultivate a responsible and sustainable path for our future generations through educational initiatives of this nature.
