💛💜 30 years of intersex visibility and activism!

Today, on Intersex Awareness Day, we mark 30 years since the first public intersex demonstration, held in Boston on 26 October 1996. A historic moment in the fight for intersex visibility, dignity and human rights.

Three decades later, intersex activists and organisations continue to challenge discrimination, raise awareness and advocate for bodily autonomy, self-determination and equal rights.

We celebrate this important milestone and stand in solidarity with everyone continuing the fight for intersex rights and equality. 💛💜💛

Come sempre... together we can!

9-11 October: three days with Prides from all over Europe.
The EuroPride Torino 2027 delegation was at EPOA’s Annual General Meeting, the yearly gathering where European Pride organisers come together, compare notes and swap ideas. Between talks and workshops we picked up insights and good practices, and strengthened friendships that are already part of our journey towards Turin 2027.

Congratulations to Dresden Pride, which will host EuroPride in 2029 (follow @europride2029!)

A special thank you to MAZZimage for the beautiful photos.

🌻 Invisible Disabilities Week starts today!

Not all disabilities are visible, and not everyone’s needs are immediately apparent. This week is Invisible Disabilities Week (19–25 October), and we want to highlight the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, an amazing initiative helping to make everyday environments, services and situations more accessible and inclusive.

By wearing the Sunflower, people can discreetly indicate that they have a non-visible disability and may need additional support, understanding or a little more time.

We encourage Pride organisers and other organisations to learn about the Sunflower, train their staff and volunteers, and take steps to better understand and accommodate the diverse needs of our communities. 🏳️‍🌈🌻

Last weekend, during EPOA's Annual General Meeting in Magdeburg, Germany, I was re-elected as Media and Communications Coordinator for another term.

I'm very grateful for the continued trust and support from our members! Looking back, it's been an incredibly rewarding year. When I started in this role, one of my ambitions was to make our communications more visible, meaningful and campaign-driven. Not just sharing what we do, but using our platforms to amplify the voices of Pride organisers, strengthen solidarity and bring the power of our movement into the digital space.

During my past term, I've launched multiple new campaigns, strengthened partnerships, introduced a renewed visual identity and significantly expanded our reach. Over the past year, our communications generated more than 3 million impressions and 126.000 engagements (an increase of 324%), while our Instagram community grew to over 15.000 followers.

I'm proud of these numbers, but even more of what we can achieve with that visibility. One of my proudest campaigns was Lesbian Visibility Week, highlighting the work and challenges of lesbian Pride organisers. We've also mobilised our movement to stand in solidarity with Pride organisers facing increasing pressure, advocated for LGBTQIA+ rights and connected organisations across borders.

With LGBTQIA+ rights and Pride events increasingly under pressure across Europe and globally, this work matters more than ever. I'm looking forward to building on what we've achieved and continuing to grow and strengthen EPOA and the Pan-European Pride movement.

A big thank you to all our members for their trust in me and to my fellow Board members for their collaboration! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Dresden won the bid for EuroPride 2029! 😍🌈☀️

Amazing news from Karl’s home town! Under the motto “turn walls into bridges“, the beautiful capital city of Saxony will bring the international LGBTQ+ community finally to the eastern part of Germany. The work of the CSD Dresden team over the past years made this incredible achievement, to host the 35th edition of EuroPride in the year of the 60th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising in New York, possible! Congratulations! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

As a personal note: Karl’s first CSD in Dresden was in 2002! This summer we joined the Pride demonstration again. This time as husbands. It was so wonderful to see and experience how far the city and its dedication to the queer community has come. On the streets, people were visibly, bravely diverse, and proudly taking up their place.

Karl still cannot believe it that this is happening 🙈😅

Happy Pride, Dresden!
And see you very soon again!

From finding a sense of belonging to remembering the struggles that made Pride possible, these stories show why Pride matters across generations, borders and cultures.

Pride is more than a celebration. It carries our history, our culture, and our fight to live freely.

Now, we’re calling on UNESCO to recognize Pride as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

🏳️‍🌈 Building inclusive sport together starts with local action!

How can LGBTQIA+ sport organisations and municipalities work together to make sport safer, more welcoming and accessible to everyone?

This was at the heart of our Better in Colour, Better in Sports webinar, held during the European Week of Sport. 🌈

From tackling harmful conversion practices through the #PlayInColour campaign to inspiring initiatives in Barcelona and the Netherlands, and the lasting legacy of EuroGames 2022 in Nijmegen, speakers shared how local partnerships can turn inclusion into lasting change.
Because sport is more than physical activity. It's about community, belonging and the freedom to be yourself.
