Hodi, hodi, Mwanza! 👋

Day 1 of EU Ambassador Jean-Marc Pisani’s first official visit outside Dar es Salaam took him to the Rock City, where Team Europe 🇪🇺 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇧🇪 🇩🇰 is supporting major investments in clean water, sustainable urban development, opportunities for young people and more!

Joined by French Ambassador to Tanzania Jean-Baptiste Jeangène Vilmer, the Ambassador paid a courtesy visit to Mwanza Regional Administrative Secretary Dr Fatuma Mganga, reaffirming the close cooperation between Team Europe and the region.

From the Butimba Water Treatment Plant to the Team Europe SASA! office and the Mwanza City Council, the delegation saw investments in clean water and smarter urban development in action, meeting programme partners and learning more about their work. 💧

🎬 The day ended with great energy from students at the ZIFF Goes Mainland European Film Festival screening, hosted by St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT), where the delegation also met the Vice Chancellor!

💡 Did you know? The planned second phase of the Lake Victoria Water and Sanitation Project, which includes the Butimba Water Treatment Plant, aims to benefit up to 800,000 people!

As part of the Girls Takeover 2026 initiative with @plan_tanzania , EU Youth Sounding Board Tanzania members @paulsiniga and @kapwanikav joined @vitiglowwith_b ,a young advocate for vitiligo awareness and skin positivity, for a day of learning, exchange and advocacy.

Together, they worked on turning Bianca’s passion into action, helping her develop a clear advocacy roadmap, strengthen her message and shape a concrete proposal to challenge stigma and promote inclusion.
