my papaw 💙

the kindest, sweetest, and most caring man i have ever met in my life.
some people knew him as Mr. Allen, or Brent, but i knew him as my papaw. he taught me more than i could ever fully understand about growing up—whether it was about school, love, or just life in general. he always knew exactly what to say, and when to say it.

there are no words to describe how grateful i am to have grown up with such a positive role model. he touched so many lives and helped countless people. every room my papaw walked into felt brighter because of the happiness he carried with him.

he gave me some of the best advice a teenage girl could ever receive, and i will never take those conversations for granted. if i had to choose my favorite memories, i don’t think i could—because every single one of them means so much to me.

to everyone who has prayed for my family and me over this past year, thank you. cancer is a thief, but my papaw was a fighter. i pray that he is now in a place filled with comfort, love, and peace. by @eva.lahman
