Have neglected to post much on here recently. Lots has been going on in the shop though of course! It never stops, but it’s all pretty good fun.

Beryl ‘61 Beetle we sorted with a new 4” Narrowed beam, and reindex on the rear end. Looooovely car!

Quick Clutch job on a customers ‘68. Almost always recut the flywheel now on the lathe. Worth it, and super satisfying.

Our old mexi in for some work. Flywheel oil seal, inlet manifold gasket and some tweaks. Absolute animal of a car.

@joebugski94 fitting up another 4” on a super cool Australian import Beetle.

We ❤️ fresh suspension.

The results. Not super low, a minimum clearance was stated and we worked to that. Fresh @nankangtyreuk all round too and Adjustable drop plates in the rear!

Top end engine rebuild in progress on a customers 1835cc Bay.

The culprit! That’s what a lean mixture and missing tinware seal/provisions will grant you #ouch

Broke my camera. You know the one we use for our YT stuff. More content coming soon though, got some cooking up.

From us to everyone who came to our ‘shop last weekend - THANK YOU!

I honestly never expected so many people to come by. We had such an awesome array of vehicles, great times and great people.

We really packed them in this time, and had 70+ ‘show vehicles’ directly outside the shop. I didn’t fully think through parking, meaning some were blocked in 😆 - but no one seemed to mind… With plenty to look at, some pleasant weather and top-tier food by @pickupapizza - the time flew by!

This was our second ever show/open/callitwhatyoulike day, and from now on, we’ll be doing one every year on the same weekend 100%.

Thanks again to all who came and to those who helped ❤️

🚨BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!🚨 This weekend, we’re back with our yearly Meet at the ‘shop!
We welcome all Aircooled cars, Vw and not! Anything retro/classic, and just anything else cool.
Last years event was an absolute belter. Some incredible cars turned up, and the atmosphere was so so good!
We have @pickupapizza on food/drink duties again - offering their fantastic stone-baked pizza out the back of their Commercial Baywindow pickup, and a range of cold drinks too. Better get the shop cleaned up I guess 😆.

A very, very, very lovely Razoredge for Myles. This one’s been a bit more than just air and wheels!
Off of the road since the late 90’s, absolutely every aspect of this car’s mechanicals, electricals and other running gear has been brought back up to date.
The result is simply sublime, and one of the nicest driving Aircooled cars I’ve ever experienced!
It’s been a fun job, but now it’s ready to head back to the owner.
Full Premium treatment on the air suspension with a 4” beam up front, new brakes all round, engine work… and the list goes on!

What a tremendous evening/night we had yesterday! Hottest day of the year (and on record apparently), and my god, were the ‘vibes’ spot on. TONIGHT! We have the @staffsaircooled meet at our shop. This isn’t our ‘big’ meet like we had in July last year (maybe some news on that happening again this year soon 👀), but we’ve booked the weather, have plenty of cold drinks/water and a nice empty car park with lots of shade!
Come by, see some cars, chat some shit, see some mates. Perfect summer evening activities.
From 7PM! Please don’t come sooner (car park won’t be ready). Use “EvaResto LTD” in maps, NOT the postcode!

Transformation Tuesday: TST Alpine Status Variant

This week’s Transformation Tuesday: the team at @thesuniltreatment in Leicester has recently completed the Alpine Status upgrade.

So what did they fit?
It’s @alpineaouk Status all the way here, baby! As always, we’ll start with the source; in this case, it’s an Alpine HDS-990 Status Hi-Res Media Player. This feeds into the Alpine HDP-D90 14-channel DSP, which runs everything active, so each speaker has its own channel for full control. The front stage is covered by a set of Alpine Status HDZ-653S Slim-Fit 3-way 6.5-inch Components in beautiful custom enclosures, while rearfill is a pair of Alpine Status HDZ-65 Coaxial speakers built into the armrests. On bass, there is the magic luggage trunk in the boot with an Alpine Status HDZ-110 11” Subwoofer hidden underneath in a slot-ported enclosure.

The result?
Done right, it doesn’t get much better than Alpine Status, and thanks to the knowledge and know-how from Sunil, Joe’s Variant certainly doesn’t disappoint with Stunning clarity and depth.

Might just be the heaviest Beam we’ve produced 😆.
This UNIT right here is a 4” oversize, featuring our off-road trimmings, high range adjusters (x4!), ‘split’ torsion leaves and superstrength towers + tow/recovery hooks.

@carl75t Beetle. A stunner in every sense of the word. We see a lot of Aircooled cars - as you probably imagine!
There’s not many around that are as well put together as this one… Beauty not only skin-deep here, this thing is immaculate throughout and an A1 driver.

So when the call came to replace the old fairly lacking front-only air ride system with one of our full premium setups + full 4-way management, we jumped at the opportunity to give this car the suspension it’s always deserved.

The usual ingredients in this one, just with some more prep/time in the finish of all the parts. Every component etched, undercoated and top-coated gloss black. Can’t be letting anything non-reflective into the mix on this one 😆.

One we completed recently for the @bristolvolksfest guys!
Really enjoyable job, super cool car and top guys.
Old nailed static setup gone, in with the new new Premium Air setup from us. 4” beam up front, twin compressors on the 4-way management. Brown Powdercoat on the install base.
