“Out of this world” x Zara

Installation Andy’s team 🩷

“Our installation explores the intersection between the familiar and the unknown, inviting viewers into a landscape that feels both terrestrial and extraterrestrial. Set within a dense, immersive forest of unusual plant forms, a UFO emerges as the focal point—its presence both mysterious and quietly harmonious with its surroundings. The planting scheme has been carefully curated to evoke an otherworldly atmosphere through bold structure, unexpected textures, and striking colour contrasts. Sculptural orange Protea Pincushions punctuate the space like signals from another world, while the architectural presence of tree ferns establishes a primordial, almost prehistoric canopy. Flowing through this framework, purple trailing Amaranthus introduces a sense of suspended movement, its cascading form suggesting altered gravity within this imagined environment.Clusters of Achillea and Dianthus Barbatus provide intricate detail and rhythm at a lower level, softening the composition while maintaining richness in tone and form. Meanwhile, the spherical bursts of Craspedia bring moments of luminosity—like orbiting elements or distant planetary bodies—adding both playfulness and cohesion to the planting palette. Together, these elements create a layered, immersive ecosystem that feels unfamiliar yet compelling—a landscape that exists somewhere beyond the boundaries of the natural world as we know it. The UFO is not positioned as an intrusion, but as an extension of this environment, prompting the viewer to consider whether this is a fleeting visitation… or a place waiting to be discovered.”
