POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

fashionably late to the 2025 recap. got engaged to my best friend, did cool stuff with other best friends, and made more best friends. “fixed” my truck like four times, taught the dog new tricks, cooked pretty good food and drank even better beer. it feels selfish to say but Good Things Happening has been par for the course for me since i moved to portland. i’ve never felt more at home than i do spending time with all you ding dongs. thank you for having me. if you’re reading this i love and appreciate you. eat more bbq. by @evcado

oh no another new years carousel. 2024 is summed up for me as food, friends, and fermented beverages. have never laughed harder or eaten better. truly embraced the live laugh love mentality. thanks to all these ding dongs and many many others for making it so rad. taken in Portland, Oregon by @evcado

happy valentine’s day to this absolute dime. thank you for your kindness, your patience, and for always keeping the fridge stocked with ramblers. thank you for pretending to like the way i smell after a long day of work. and thank you for always encouraging me to chase my passions no matter how dumb they are. you’re the most caring and thoughtful person i’ve ever met and i’m the luckiest dude on the planet for the privilege of calling you mine. life is so much better with you and Duke dog in it. i love you @lillyhammer13 :) by @evcado

4th slice of some 1855 choice brisket cooked on a J&R box. cook is somewhere between fast n hot and low n slow at 11ish hours. i’d go longer but the logistics of cooking on an indoor smoker positioned on the line make it a tad difficult. taken in Lake Oswego, Oregon by @evcado

i’ve had a lot of different bosses and jobs in my short time on the ol blue marble. like most others, the majority have sucked and a few have been pretty cool.

the vast majority of us work under an established business. if that’s your situation i like to think you can’t fully thrive at a job until you find one where your boss truly treats you like a partner in the business.

this sandwich-devouring ding dong on the left is that dude. he’s taught me most everything i know about barbecue and how to do it well. he’s been hilariously patient when i fuck up an entire menu item for the weekend by dropping it on the asphalt. even before we were a two man team, he’s gone above and beyond to be transparent about where we stand as a business and the direction we’re headed. and after every cook he makes a point to ask for my feedback on the food we’re making and how we could be doing it better.

but beyond all the bbq bullshit, he’s been someone i can call the big homie. there’s not a lot of people like Kyle in portland. he’s a genuine dude that genuinely just wants to make bbq that you want to put in your mouth. i don’t think anyone that’s met him could argue against that.

anyway. at the end of the day we’re flying by the seat of our pants week by week and we only have y’all to thank for being able to continue to do this. i’m just incredibly thankful to be able to do it with This Fuckin’ Guy.

so get your ass down to @renatapdx this weekend and let’s party with some of the best bbq the PNW’s ever had. see y’all sunday :) by @evcado
