Steam Juicing Workshop with Maria Minami Takaki at Koekeittiö in Pihlajanmäki 16.8.2026.

Thank to all the juice makers who took part in the workshop and brought such a nice selection of ingredients to the table. In addition to seasonal berries, the steam juicers were fed with passion fruit, apple-pears, hops, bananas, apricots, grapes... The bottles were decorated with dried plants, paper, potato glue, beads and beeswax. In the end the leftover pulp was shaped into a shared mushy sculpture.

Työpaja on osallistujille ilmainen. Vapaaehtoinen materiaalimaksu paikan päällä.

Työpajan järjestävät taiteilija-taidekasvattajat Eve Hamari sekä Maria Minami Takaki, joita molempia kiinnostaa erilaisten kerättyjen, orgaanisten ja katoavien materiaalien käyttö taiteellisessa työssään. Työpajan toteutusta tukee @kulttuurirahasto

Ilmoittautumiset 13.8. mennessä : eveliina.hamari@gmail.com

20.—31.5.2026
Eve Hamari

The exhibition explores traces and materials gathered from the immediate environment of a childhood backyard. The tension between the yard’s inherent order and its uncontrollable events makes it a site where matter is constantly formed anew: blackcurrant spots on cloth, food scraps scattered by magpies, and berry pulp composting at the bottom of a ditch merge into the yard’s ongoing cycle. One becomes absorbed into its matter, entangled and stained by it. Sticks carry, sand gathers, mud puddles shimmer.

The raw materials of the works are given by others or found: lake clay from a friend, berries picked with the grandmother, a sandbox frame passed on by a neighbour.
Within the backyard system, materials, smells, and appearances dissolve into one another. Has everything true already been tested in the childhood yard?

Welcome to the opening 19.5. At 17-19

a warm welcome to 'Clothes mean stains', a food-staining-on-clothes extravaganza

Friday May 8th 18-22 and Saturday May 9th 11-16 @k.o.e.k.e.i.t.t.i.o / Test Kitchen
Vuolukiventie 7, Helsinki

The 2-day takes a prompt from a workshop series that took place in 2024. Participants discussed about stains and other marks of wear, as being an unexpected source of meaningfulness in clothes.

In response, a menu of dishes especially effective at staining clothes has been created. Guests will be given clothes to wear on top of their own, to collect all the drips and spills. Alongside questioning conventions of newness and cleanliness in clothes, the work is a playful, collective, experiential exercise in bio-based fabric dying.

On Friday, there is a set menu and spaces are limited so please reserve a spot by e-mailing koekeittiohelsinki@gmail.com

On Saturday, everyone can pop in and order a la carte.

The full menu will be shared before the event.

The event is part of @zofiakasia 's doctoral research, which enquires into how shared experiences between people can make clothes meaningful.

Angel’s Well, 2025, öljypastelli puulle, 44 x 46 cm

Olipa kerran vanha kasvimaa ja kasvimaalla vanha kaivo ja kaivon suojana puinen kaivonkansi. Kaivossa asui pieni sininen enkeli.
