A detail of the ACT coffee table.

I love its lightness — the way the top seems to float, combined with the soft curves and simplicity.

It can also be made in stainless steel.

Designed in 2010, it was my very first product design.

Bergen Country House

An Arts & Crafts house, where the original elements have been carefully strengthened and complemented with a mix of William Morris, vintage pieces, contemporary design and art.

A house that invites you to paint, write and lose yourself in a book.

When it comes to designing a product, it always begins with a particular shape or material that keeps presenting itself to me in different ways. Then, suddenly, I know what I want to create with it.

From there, the process is one of sketching and searching for the right proportions, the right lines, the right material, and—just as importantly—the right craftspeople to bring the design to life. It is a process of searching, letting ideas rest, refining them, and finally turning them into reality.

When the finished piece turns out exactly as I had imagined it, it always feels like magic.
