💝The best gifts aren’t mass produced. They are shaped by hand, slowly, with care and meaning - the kind you can feel when you hold them.

🌺I’m so proud to be a verified artisan of Madeit Australia, who is a cheerleader for not only the handmade movement, but also all Australian artisans who create with their hands. You can also become a supporter by going to madeit.com.au/pages/handmade-not-massmade

🎨My art is created by brushstroke by brushstroke, shaped by my heart and hands. When you buy my art, you buy something with soul and meaning. Thank you to all who have purchased my art and supported my art business. You are very appreciated ❤️

This Christmas, please support Australian handmade businesses. Finally, follow me if you want to see more art with soul. 🌻 taken in Australia by @evelyntangstudio

This weekend was more than just a market for me.

It was conversations about WA wildflowers, meeting people from all over the world, and seeing how art connects us in the smallest, most unexpected ways.

A few moments I won’t forget:
– chatting with a wildflower enthusiast who generously shared her photos for future paintings
– a little boy determined to join my insider list (we’ll work on that one 😄)
– a young artist inspired to paint flowers after visiting my stall
– and a Mother’s Day surprise mission 😉

To everyone who stopped by, supported, shared a story, or took a piece of my work home: thank you. It truly means more than you know.

If you missed out the market, you can still shop online (link in Bio) or at the Artisan Soul popup at Garden City (outside T2 store front).

You can still enter the Mother’s Day archival print giveaway for Australian residents. Just comment FLOWERS and I’ll send you the entry link.
(Draw deadline is Sunday 20 April. )

All entries also join my insider art list where I share early access to new works, studio releases, artist insights and more.

“Really happy with my purchase!”

That’s something I see often in these messages.

Not just about how the pieces look,
but how they feel once they’re received, held, and displayed.

Across different works, from Crowns of Grace to smaller floral cards, and even commissioned pieces,
the intention is always the same.

To create something that feels thoughtful, and meaningful to the person it ends up with.

Thank you for trusting my work, and for taking the time to share these with me ❤️

If you’ve been considering a piece, this might be your sign to take a closer look. The link is in my Bio. #evelyntangart #perthartist #artwithheart #happyreviews taken in Australia by @evelyntangstudio

Thank you, dear Evelyn, for this beautiful time together. 🥰🎨 What a lovely workshop, learning about watercolor techniques, colors, composition, and so much more.

After such a long time without painting, it felt so good and relaxing to sit down again and paint these beautiful flowers in such lovely company. 🌸🖌️

Thank you again for this wonderful experience. I’m already looking forward to another class with you! ❤️

A little peek at where I’ve been spending a bit of time lately.

Green Bunch has a florist, a lovely gift shop featuring Australian products, a cafe out the back and lots of greenery everywhere you look. Shellie and her crew have done an amazing job creating this cosy nook in East Vic Park. 🙌

And I feel so grateful when I say that somewhere amongst all that is my little workshop space. 🌹

More on that in my next post. 🥰@greenbunchperth #watercolourworkshopperth taken in Greenbunch Perth by @evelyntangstudio

This week I’m slowing down and sketching flowers with charcoal, focusing on observation instead of perfection. The little habits you repeat are the ones that build real skill.

What are you practising this week?

Another sketch from last week’s flower studies.

Progress isn’t about drawing one perfect piece. It’s about showing up again and again, even when you don’t feel like it.

What’s one creative habit you’re trying to build? #AustralianArtist #BotanicalArt #CharcoalDrawing #SketchbookPractice #ArtProcess taken in Australia by @evelyntangstudio

Third sketch from last week’s flower studies.

These chrysanthemums were a Mother’s Day gift. Even as they’re fading, there’s still so much beauty to notice. Slowing down to sketch them has reminded me that beauty isn’t only found in full bloom.

What habit are you trying to stay consistent with, even when progress feels slow?

Rising boldly above the bushland after a bushfire, the Waratah embodies courage and renewal. Perfect for someone starting anew, recovering, or simply thriving despite challenges.

The King Protea was my first handmade greeting card, created for Father’s Day last year. This year, I painted more with the same idea in mind, to celebrate the regal, unapologetic ones.

With its bold, sculptural form, the King Protea symbolises resilience and being unapologetically yourself. This is for someone who stands strong in their own way, for milestones, birthdays, or just because they own their story.

Which flower should I post next?
Wattle, Waratah, or Flowering Gum?

The Wattle bursts into gold and warmth, reminding us of someone who makes everyday moments better.

This one’s for the ‘thinking of you’ texts and cup-of-tea catch ups.

Each card is a hand-painted original from my Perth studio. A card made to be framed so your precious words are treasured, not tossed.
