In the evolving coffee landscape of Chennai, @eventidecoffee is a specialty coffee space built around one core idea — coffee as an experience. Inspired by the quiet poetry of sunset, the café reflects a slower, softer hour through minimal, tactile interiors, a subtle brutalist ceiling, clean lines, and warm, intentional lighting — thoughtfully designed by @thebillboards.co.

At its heart lies precision-roasted, ethically sourced coffees crafted to create sensory moments. SLOWBAR TAKEOVER — Espresso’s only.

@yettucoffee on the slowbar, running profiles through the @decentespressomachines — their lineup and ours. Just order a “Single origin espresso” at the counter and talk to the barista to understand what type of profiles we are working with. Just walk in and have a great morning drinking espressos!

When we looked back at the biggest thing we gained this first year, it was the people who constantly keep visiting us. And when we thought of doing something worth keeping in our memories from this year for years to come, it was to know what made you guys keep coming back to Eventide. For some it was the coffee, and for some the matcha, for some the calm, the architecture, the high tide cake, the baristas, the aesthetics, the decent espresso machine… but overall, it was the feeling of community and a feeling of home that this space just magically gives off. Introducing our Birthday Month Specials

We’re always doing R&D for new drinks, but we only put something on the menu when we think it’s absolutely worth it. So for our birthday month, we’re bringing you a few of our favourites.

Birthday Latte
The cream tastes just like cake batter — sweet, creamy and perfectly paired with both coffee and matcha.

Pistachio Cold Foam
Made with pure pistachio paste, it’s nutty, rich and deliciously complemented by our sweet cream.

Melowshot
House-made marshmallow with a hot ristretto pulled right over it, finished with a layer of sweet cream to soften the intensity of the espresso.

Matcha Ice Cream
Made with our single-origin matcha, it’s creamy, rich and smooth, with just the right amount of matcha.

One year of eventide.

Before this was a coffee shop, it was just us making coffee for friends at home — little house parties. To mark year one, we’re bringing that back, for the regulars who made this place what it is.

Tuesday, 8 september — 6 to 8pm
Music(Live DJ), coffee, a postcard to fill your fav Eventide memory and the first set of Loyalty cards will be given during the party.

This particular drink has been an idea we worked on and then put on hold since before we even opened Eventide Café. Now that we’re nearing the one-year anniversary of our coffee shop, it only feels right to finally make this drink a staple on our menu.

The idea started simple: we wanted to use marshmallow and a shot of espresso to create a drink we could name after @melowshot. But we also wanted it to be a dessert drink that everyone could enjoy, similar to our Misu Espresso.

After a lot of trial and error, we finally landed on this version.

A hot ristretto is pulled over a layer of marshmallow and left to steep until the marshmallow soaks up the coffee. A layer of sweet cold foam is then added on top, balancing out the intensity of the espresso.

The espresso-soaked marshmallow has a beautiful mouthfeel and sweetness when eaten. And when you take a sip of the cold foam and espresso together, it almost tastes like that last bit of an affogato you can never get enough of.

Hosting a cupping session tomorrow, 15.08, to let you taste some of our 2026 coffee lots.

1508 is a bit of a double meaning — the date of the session, and the recipe we’ll be cupping to: 8 grams of coffee to 150ml of water, as per SCA protocol.

If you’re new here, at Eventide we source coffee fresh every year. Even the same coffee from the same farm can taste different season to season. So this will be a fun session where we cup a few of your favourites from last year alongside some interesting new ones.

In the session we’ll be teaching you:
— what coffee cupping is
— how to cup coffee at home
— and tasting coffees from our lineup this year

One free drink per registration.

Dirty Latte.

The milk does the work here. We freeze it, then thaw it slow. We keep the concentrated part: richer, sweeter, more body, with nothing added to get there. The water freezes off first as ice, and that’s what we leave behind.

Then a hot ristretto poured straight over the top. Hot above, cold below. Don’t stir it. The ristretto hits first, then the cold milk comes up under it and rounds it out, shifting the whole way down.

Freeze distilling is slow and each batch only makes a little, so there is only limited quantity of this drink each day. taken in Eventide Coffee by @eventidecoffee
