🎇WINNER!!💥

The Academy Award Qualifying Cleveland International Film Festival has awarded In The Event Of My Death the “Best Ohio Short!” Thank you to the entire #CIFF46 staff and volunteers. It’s clear that you all love what you do. @clefilmfest is world class. They value the filmmakers, the audience, and the art of visual storytelling, and present the films in the ornate classic theaters of #PlayhouseSquare. I left feeling invigorated to create more films and stories. 🎥

This is my hometown festival, so all of my family was at our screening plus basically everyone else I know in Ohio. Thank you all so much for coming out and supporting our little film! It’s a film with half a heart in Seattle, WA, and half a heart in the state of Ohio. Couldn’t have asked for more scenic, ideal places to make a film. Who wants shoot more films in the #buckeyestate? I’m down!

By the way, if you missed it, you can still stream our film virtually in Local Heroes Shorts 1 at Clevelandfilm.org.

🏝️🏝️🏝️We’re playing the Bahamas baby!🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸

Well Mudda Sick! It’s likely the end of our festival run, with fest number 41 at the Bahamas International Film Festival. We’ve played festivals near and far, and it’s a privilege to top it all off in the Bahamas, one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Can you believe there are people in the Bahamas who are willing to leave the beach to sit in a dark theater to watch indie films? Their presence at the fest is the greatest compliment. The 18th #BIFF is taking place May 3-7 in the scenic Nassau Bahamas. Thank you to all the dedicated folks @bahamasbiff, for working hard to bring independent film to your picturesque island. 🏝️

Our short film #InTheEventOfMyDeath is part of Shorts Block 4 at the Eccho Art Gallery at Baja Mar, Friday May 5 at 5:45pm.

(Hold hands, takes bow, walks into the distance). 🙏

🍾LUCKY NUMBER 40!🎉

This is huge! We just tallied it up, and this week’s awesome River Bend Film Fest marks our 40th festival‼️ When we began our festival run, we never dreamed of being accepted into that many fests. It’s humbling and a driving force to keep making films. A huge thanks from the bottom of our hearts to all the fests & programmers who included our film. We’re honored we got to share our story with you and your audience. 🙏

And extra special thanks to @riverbendfilmfest !! Our friends in Goshen, Indiana throw a wonderful festival (the lineup looks incredible), and they’re not too far from where we filmed the field scenes in Ohio. (Plus the film still above that features nearby Lake Erie!)
⛵️
If you’re in the Great Lakes region, you should come out to the festival. We will be a part of Narrative Shorts Block 3 at the Goshen Theater twice! First Thursday April 20th at 10pm, & Friday April 21st at 9pm.

🚨 They’re also showing our pal & associate producer Andrew Rudd’s film Rue! @doyoufeelrue - So be sure to check that out in Shorts Block 1.

🗽 WE’RE BACK NEW YORK! 🍎

This will be our last film fest of the year, and what an incredible year 2022 has been! Our thanks and gratitude to everyone over at the Yonkers Film Festival @yofifest for making #InTheEventOfMyDeath an Official Selection! What an honor to be a part of this festival on the Hudson River just north of New York City.

The fest is from December 2-11, and there’s an abundance of films to feast on. If you’re in the tri-state region, come on out to our film block! 👇

Mixed Bag Block - Sunday, December 4th, 2022 12PM EST. Riverfront Theater - 1 Larkin Center, Yonkers, NY. _ Also good news, if you can’t make it in person, you can watch online at the same time. Check the link in our bio for details. 🎟️

As the year nears its end, we’re reminded of how hard film festival organizers work to create a meaningful experience for filmmakers and audiences. Making films, short or long, is incredibly hard, but getting the opportunity to showcase the film on a big, silver screen with audience reactions is the absolute best. So again, thank you a whole dang lot to the Yonkers Film Festival, and all the festivals this year that have said “yes” to sharing our film with their generous communities and friends. Hugs and high fives and cheers and fist bumps and salutes and applauds to you all. 🔥 🔥 🔥
