There's more to HYROX preparation than just working hard 👀

At our first HYROX workshop, we took the time to break things down.

🔸Sled pulls.
🔸Burpee broad jumps.
🔸Race-day fuelling.
🔸And most importantly, understanding why we're doing things a certain way.

Less rushing through movements.
More time to practise, ask questions, get individual feedback and find ways to move more efficiently.

Because the goal isn't simply to finish a session exhausted.
It's to leave with something you can take into your next training session and ultimately, onto the race floor.

And that's exactly what we love about these workshops.

Meal Prep Sundays are back and so is one of our favorites!!

Sticky Ginger Pulled Beef Bowls

Pulled Beef 1.5kg chuck roast 3 tbsp beef broth concentrate (paste) 3 tbsp miso paste 2 tbsp sesame oil 4 tbsp mirin ½ cup honey or brown sugar alternative (e.g. Splenda) 1 cup beef broth 2 cloves garlic, crushed ¼ cup fresh ginger, grated Juice of 1 lime
Method
1. Roast at 160°C for 2.5 hours, covered, turning halfway.
2. Remove the beef and shred.
3. Reduce the remaining liquid in a pan until thick and sticky, then pour over the beef.

Dressing 3 tbsp rice vinegar 1½ tbsp soy or tamari 1½ tbsp sesame oil 1½ tbsp honey or maple syrup 1½ tsp ginger 1 garlic clove, minced Juice of 1½ limes Optional: sriracha or chilli flakes

To assemble Jasmine rice Slaw + dressing Sticky pulled beef Peanuts, spring onion + red chilli

Seeing what AMRAP is becoming and the impact it’s having on people makes every bit of it worth it.

If there’s one thing we hope you take from this…

Go after the things you can’t stop thinking about.

It’s going to be scary and hard. But it might also be one of the most rewarding things you ever do. 💛

Some weeks you'll feel strong, energised and ready to push.

Other weeks, life feels full.

💛 Everything feels a little harder than usual.

That's normal.

Training doesn't have to look the same every week to still be worthwhile.

👉🏻 Sometimes progress looks like adding weight to the bar.

👉🏻 Sometimes it looks like moving well, building confidence, or simply maintaining momentum through a busy season.

At AMRAP, we coach the person in front of us, not the version of them from six months ago.

Because long-term progress isn't built on perfect weeks.

It's built by continuing to invest in the habits that support your physical and mental wellbeing, even when life isn't running smoothly.

The goal isn't perfection.

Four sold-out classes.
A gym full of energy.
So many familiar faces.
So many new ones.

To everyone who came along today, thank you.

The support, encouragement, excitement, and belief in what we’re building has meant more than you’ll ever know.

For weeks we’ve talked about opening the doors.

Today we finally got to do it.

And honestly?

It was everything we hoped it would be.

Classes start Monday.

We’re only just getting started 🔥

One thing we’ve thought a lot about while building AMRAP Balwyn is how to make sessions feel easier to follow and more comfortable to walk into.

A lot of people step into group training feeling like they need to keep up, remember everything instantly, and somehow know exactly what’s going on from the start.

We don’t want people feeling lost in sessions.

So alongside live coaching on the gym floor, every zone inside AMRAP will also have movement demonstrations running throughout the workout to help members stay connected to the session and move confidently through each station.

The coaching will always come first.

This is simply one of the extra details we’ve built in to make the overall experience feel more supportive, clear, and enjoyable from the moment people walk through the doors💙 by @ever_so_fit

We got the keys on Tuesday.

Since then it’s been long days, skip bins, carpets, cleaning, organising, meetings, decision making, steep learning curves, problem-solving and a lot of moments looking at each other thinking:
“What have we done?” 😂

Right now it’s dusty floors, rubbish everywhere, tools, deliveries and complete chaos.

And in less than 3 weeks, this needs to become a gym we’re genuinely proud of.

Not just somewhere people come to train.
A place people feel supported, coached properly and excited to walk into.

A place where people finally feel like their effort is actually going somewhere.

There’s a lot riding on this for both of us.
Financially, emotionally and physically.

But we care deeply about creating an environment that feels different from the moment you walk through the door.

Not because it’s flashy.
But because people deserve good coaching, structure, support and a space that helps them genuinely progress.

This part isn’t glamorous.
It’s stressful, messy and exciting all at once.

But this is the bit people don’t always see behind a gym opening:
The late nights.
The mess.
The risk.
The work.

We got the keys.
Now we build.
