The PROCO RAT 2 distortion pedal needs no introduction. Us bass players also love that nasty ripping sound, but aren't as fond of it's loss of low end - especially at higher gain settings.

I decided to lower the value of my "vintage" pedal, and raise the low end by adding a clean blend circuit.
I also added a switch that activates the simple "Ruetz" Mod, which makes it sound less "high gain" and quite a bit smoother.
And to top it of, I changed the power socket for the more regular barrel type. No more messing around with adapters.

I can't wait to try out this rodent in a band setting, and finally be able to turn up that gain, while still maintaining that low end!

Vaarwel lief autootje. Je bent altijd goed voor me geweest. Maar nu vindt Amsterdam dat je te vies bent, dus wordt je vervangen door een geel broertje. Ik ga je missen, oud scheurijzer 😢
