Week 2 and we made a little more progress 🥹😂
He still wanted to turn around and come back to me, but he got back up and kept going. And listen… he made it to the blue this time, so I’m counting that as a win.
Meanwhile I’m realizing I definitely need to invest in some sports bras because this little running series got ME out here jogging too 😂

Y’all… Austin had ONE job: RUN FORWARD. 😂

This was Austin’s first race of 2026, and I definitely think we’re making progress!

He took off in the lead, looking like he knew exactly what he was doing… then all of a sudden, he turned around and came right back to me. 😭😂

He did the same thing last year with Gerard , except last year he barely moved before the tears started. This year, he made it a little farther before deciding, “Yeah… I’m going back to my mama.” 😂

Then I had to start running too, and just so we’re clear… I AM NOT A JOGGER. This little boy has me outside getting cardio I never asked for. 😂

But progress is progress! He went farther than he did last year, and this year we are finishing this race series!

I can’t wait to show y’all his progress every week because at this point, we’re training Austin AND me. 😂🏃🏽‍♀️

Race 1… we’ll take it! Today is actually week three but it’s been raining so I don’t know if it will be postponed so I’ll make sure the post week two this evening or tomorrow. 😂 by @every1lovesaustin

Okay so how do y’all think they did? 😂
Here’s part 2 and the finished French toast. I think it came out pretty good especially for them doing most of it themselves 😂 and of course they had to taste it when they were done.

Cooking with kids definitely takes a little extra patience 😂 but it’s all love. Especially if they’re learning.

Today we’re making French toast 🍞

Can y’all help us out? What should we make next? Give us an EASY meal your kids love because we need some ideas and we might make yours next.

I tried to cut this video down but I couldn’t 😂 so y’all are getting the whole 5 minutes of us in the kitchen.

Week 1 of Healthy Kids Running Series 🏃🏾‍♂️😂

Him: “It’s too hard.”
Me: “Nothing is too hard. We’re gonna finish.”
Me: “But you finished this time! Don’t you feel good?”
Him: “No.” 😭😂

And that was the end of that conversation.

But I’m still proud of my baby! Last year he only made it a few steps. This year he made it halfway… AND may I add, my boy was in the lead at first! 😂👏🏾

We’re celebrating the progress, not just the finish line.

This is only week one, so I’m definitely doing this Q&A again in a few weeks because I have a feeling his answers might be a little different. 😂

For now… participation still gets celebrated over here. 🏅

So , what happened at school?

Why do I feel like he told me the story…but left out some VERY important details 😂 because now I definitely need to talk to his teacher.

His speech has gotten so much better! We’ve been working overtime on his letter sounds, words and getting him to slow down when he talks. We have an appointment to get him back into speech therapy too ( unfortunately we had to take him out ) because baby, I need ALL the tea 😂

I understand , but I just know there’s more to this story 😂

Also I need to put him in some boxing / martial art classes something because this ain’t it .

For the last month, we’ve been intentional about working on the alphabet and letter sounds because our next big goal is learning to read. 📚
Dad @gerard2esq took over teaching for a little bit, and they worked through the alphabet and sounds together. Then they finished up with a little life skills lesson helping with the dishes.

Once he has his letter sounds down, our next step is putting those sounds in together and working on small words.

We’re taking our time, building the foundation first, and letting him learn at his own pace.

We’d also love to partner with reading programs like @starfalleducation and @hookedonphonics as we document this next stage of his learning journey while he transitions from daycare to homeschool . ❤️

Have you been to Hot Wheelz in Cherry Hill?! 🛼🔥 @hotwheelzskate

If you have a little one who’s interested in learning to skate, you definitely need to check them out! They have family skating, beginner lessons, and even options to help little skaters get comfortable on the floor.

And speaking of little skaters… look at MY baby! 🥹❤️

A few weeks ago, right before turning 3, he tried skating for the first time and wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with it. 😂 Even after we bought him his own skates, it was “NO NO NO!”

Fast forward to his 4th time skating… LOOK AT THAT CONFIDENCE! 🥹🛼

As a mom, sometimes you want to say, “It’s okay, you don’t have to do it.” But I had to mind my business and let Dad take over, and I’m SO glad I did. 😂

We’ve seen the same thing with swimming. At first he couldn’t stand being in the water, and now he LOVES it.

Kids are so resilient. Sometimes they just need a little patience, a little encouragement, and a few more tries. ❤️

Shoutout to Hot Wheelz for giving him a place to learn, practice and have fun. He JUST turned 3… imagine how good he’ll be if we keep this up! 🥹🔥
