The biggest gift you can give your children is your time with them and being joyful and fun around them.

I find it much easier to do when we travel: to be funny and fun and goofy and spend lots of times in conversations and connection, so that’s why I prioritize travel.

It’s the only time I’m able to get away from the every day “to do’s” and disconnect from reality and connect with her.

What about you? Do you make a special effort to connect? How does it look?

We are made to believe that we cannot intrinsically motivate and organize ourselves.

That there should be an outer authority that dictates what we do and when we do it to provide discipline and structure.

As a kid, most of your time should be spent playing.

That’s how kids learn.

As children grow into young adults, they automatically figure out how to structure their days based on their interests and what works for their brain and their body.

A child who has had their whole life structured by adults and motivated by external motivators will have a hard time motivating and organizing themselves as an adult outside of a job where they are told what to do.

If you’re an adult business owner, you don’t lament over how there’s no one else organizing your days and structuring them.

You structure them how you see fit to accomplish your goals.

In our case, I’m creating a childhood for my daughter that will prepare her for a life in which she does not have to answer to someone else but create her own ideal environment.

( and hey, it wasn’t always that way.

I wish I knew these things when I first became a mom.

It has been quite a journey to where we are.

Slow gradual realization that the way society programmed us isn’t the way for us and slow gradual move away from those old paradigms. )

Do you believe children have an innate ability to self-govern?

When I realized I could never go back to normal life.

New here? Here is everything you need to know👇

22+ years ago I started my first business at 18.

Since then I’ve built multiple businesses, completely redesigned my life, and realized something most people never do:

You can have the freedom you dream of, your life doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

I now run multiple businesses from wherever I am in the world, which at the moment is from the road on a “2 year around the world” trip with my family (follow @ourlittlevoyages).

I’ll be sharing our travel, the reality of running online businesses on the go, and doing my best to inspire you to drop everything and build a life you are excited to live.

The Self-Made Way is the culmination of everything that I have learned the hard way about starting the kind of online business that lights you up instead of drains you and how you can do the same.

🚀 Ready to build “unique to you” business you’ll actually be great at? Comment SELFMADE for the full breakdown.

👩🏼‍💻Not ready to change your life yet? Comment REMOTEBUSINESS and I’ll send you my FREE list of 700+ Remote Jobs & Online Business Ideas that allow you to work remotely and travel.
