So excited to see Sadie perform in this show! I've been able to see bits and pieces, and not only is it adorable, but very impressive what these kiddos have been able to learn in only a few short weeks. It's her first play, and I know she'll love having some familiar faces in the audience 😊 Let me know if you'll be at a show so we can look out for you!

Let's gooooo! Excited for another year of Bible reading! Although this year, I plan to *listen* with the girls, and follow along with their Bibles as we do! Join in with us with The Bible Recap KIDS!! Just launched today!

I love listening to the Bible with the Dwell app, because there are lots of versions and pleasant voices to choose from. We're listening to the International Children's Bible version, so the girls can easily follow along in their paper Bibles which are also ICB.

Here's how The Bible Recap works:
1. Read (or listen!) to the day's Bible reading. It's a chronological reading plan through the whole Bible in a year. I like Dwell to listen & the YouVersion Bible app or my paper Bible for reading. Here's a link to the plan on Dwell:
https://dwellapp.io/+215A2

2. Listen to a short daily podcast that "recaps" the daily reading, providing an overview of that day's reading + adding history or context that enhances understanding. We're listening on Podbean, but you can search for The Bible Recap (or the new kids version just released today!) wherever you listen to podcasts. Here's a PodBean link: https://www.podbean.com/pa/pbblog-3bykd-142e7c5

Who else is starting (or continuing!) with The Bible Recap this year?? I did a New Testament in a year plan last year, but this will be my 3rd time doing the full Bible with TBR! by @everyday.ashley

✔️ Bucket list item completed this morning! Surfing Santas @ Cocoa Beach! I've always wanted to go, but the early morning chaos scared me off 🤪 This year however, we're staying in a short term rental on Cocoa Beach until construction on our new house is finished, so this was our chance!

So many fun & festive outfits around 🎄🎅 And lots of fun watching the surfers + enjoy the beautiful morning ☀️ at the beach!

This is Christmas, Florida style ⛱️ Just watch out for the 🪼😅 by @everyday.ashley

Just this morning, Sadie was writing "Jesus loves you" in the dew on my back windshield. Emma expressed concern that maybe someone would see that and want to hurt us if they disagreed. It led to a great conversation, which was incredibly relevant to this horrific tragedy of Charlie Kirk's murder today.

I told my girls the story in 2 Kings where Elisha's servant frantically told him that they were surrounded by an army who wanted to kill them. But Elisha replied "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." Elisha then prays for God to open his servant's eyes, and his servant sees that there are mountains of chariots and horses of fire - God's army of angels - ready to fight for them. So I reminded my girls that the Bible says that God "will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways." (Psalm 91:11)

But then I had to remind them as well that sometimes it's not God's plan to save our physical bodies here on earth, and that sometimes people who stand up for their faith are martyred. But, we never have to fear physical death, because God has saved our spiritual selves for all eternity.

I honestly forgot about the conversation until we were talking about how a great man, who spoke boldly about his belief in Jesus, and who stood for truth in the face of bitter opposition, was martyred today. Alyse said "mom, it's just like what we were talking about this morning!"

So, today we are grieving that a great man, bold in his convictions and willing to have the hard conversations that most people would shy away from, a wonderful husband and father to two young babies, was murdered. But, we will not "grieve as those who have no hope"! We will remember that Charlie is in the arms of Jesus today, who I am confident is telling Charlie "well done, good and faithful servant."

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 ESV
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep." by @everyday.ashley

Had a fun weekend celebrating Sadie's 8th birthday! Animal Kingdom & Magic Kingdom, then Olive Garden for dinner when we decided to leave a little early due to rain. Today Sadie helped me bake her birthday cake: a "s'mores" cake with chocolate cake, graham cracker & chocolate buttercream in the center, and toasted marshmallow buttercream on the outside 🥳 We love you so much sweet Sadie babes! Praising God for the amazing young lady you are, I am so excited to see all the good plans God has for you this next year! 💕 by @everyday.ashley

🇺🇸 20 years! 🇺🇸 It's hard to put into words all that Christian's retirement ceremony meant to us. It was primarily , of course, a celebration of his 20 years of service in the Air Force and Space Force, and of his many accomplishments during his career. I'm so incredibly proud of him!!

But it was also a time to remember all the adventures we've had as a family for the past two decades. And what an adventure it's been! The sweetest gift was being able to celebrate with so many family members and dear friends that we've made along the way.

I wish everyone who's been a friend to us or provided support during the challenges of military life could have been there, but the fact that this room full of people was only a drop in the bucket for the people we've met and loved along the way is a testament to God's goodness in our lives and how He's richly blessed us with great friends and co-workers everywhere we've been.

Thank you to ALL of you for being the amazing people you are! Military life comes with its unique challenges, and we could never have done it for 20 years without your support. We are grateful for you!
