I never expected the worst thing to happen to me to become the richest gift I’ve ever received.

I feel so blessed that I was able to transform my health, but the true gift I’ve been granted is the ability to help others transform theirs —& regain their life back.

When I was sick & debilitated from chronic Lyme disease, I remember telling my close friends in all sincerity, “I wouldn’t wish this hell on my worst enemy.” And to this day, I truly believe that chronic Lyme is one of the worst personal health conditions one can experience because it’s just not Lyme. It’s the 50-100 symptoms it causes. It’s the breakdown of all of our bodies systems. It’s the insidious breakdown of one’s mental health day after day. It’s the denial by health care workers. It’s the denials by insurance for basics that would be covered by any other disease.

Chronic Lyme is the end of the life you knew before. But it doesn’t have to be the end of one’s life —it in fact can be the rebirth of a stronger, healthier and happier person than ever before.

✨ One year of stings, countless moments of grit and grace.

Her reflection below beautifully captures what real healing looks like: not sudden or dramatic, but subtle and steady wins 💛🐝.

“When I first started stinging, I thought I’d know the moment healing arrived – that it would be loud, obvious, complete. That I would just “be better.”

This week, I am coming up on one year of stinging. I am thinking about how trying and heavy, yet gratifying and transformative it has been.

I am thinking about the sacrifices, the pain, the discomfort, and the grit that this year has required.

I am thinking about the progress, the hope, and the resilience.

I am thinking about how pain and discomfort have lived alongside beauty and happiness so inextricably.

Before this year, I envisioned “healing” as a distinct moment where everything changes – where things are one way one moment, and entirely different in the next.

But what I’ve learned is that healing comes in subtler ways…in mornings where I hold my coffee and the day feels possible, in the afternoon walks where the wind moves soft and steadily through the trees, and in evenings where I get to choose to sit on the couch, instead of feeling like I belong there.

Some days, the stings feel like they’re carrying me forward. Other days, they feel like anchors pulling me back into the hardship of the last couple of years.

And every day, stinging is a reminder that I’ve fought and will continue to fight for my health.

So, as I step into my second year of stinging, I carry with me not only the physical marks and the learnings, but also the excitement that subtle moments of healing will continue to slip in quietly.
