My teen son is heading off on his first weekend hike with his scout group tomorrow.
Alongside the regular first aid kit going into his rucksack, I've also given him a small packet of homeopathic remedies - a selection of remedies you can use in first aid situations.
Even though we use #homeopathy at home all the time, I don't want to overwhelm him, so these 8 remedies should cover the common things that could happen on a hike.

Homeopathy is the medicine for laypeople so don't be afraid to give it a go. You can purchase remedies online or from your local health food store.

Remedies included:
#ARNICA 200c- bumps, bruises, shock after an accident.
#APIS 200c- stings & bites, allergies of eyes, mouth, throat, pain & stinging, redness.
#ARSENICUM 30c - Food poisoning, vomiting and diarrhoea.
#BELLADONNA 30c - Headache with throbbing, fever, sunstroke.
#RHUSTOX 30c - For tendons & ligaments, strained/sprained, skin rashes.
#RUTAGRAV 30c - Sprains/strains, injured joints, shin splints.
#LEDUM 30c - Puncture wounds, black eye. (Take with Hypericum for puncture wounds).
#HYPERICUM 6c - Nerve injury, crush injury.

The standard instructions usually found with homeopathic remedies are to take 1-3 pillules (although one is usually enough at a time), tip it into the cap and then into your mouth. Do this 3-4 times per day until the ailment subsides.
In acute cases, the appropriate remedy can be taken as often as every 10 minutes until there is an obvious improvement, then 3-4 dosages per day until the ailment is resolved. The sooner the appropriate remedy can be given the better.

A few days ago my cat had a runny poo incident (not in her litter tray 😳) and last week a vomiting incident 🤮🙁 I added #homeopathic #arsenicumalbum30 to one of her water bowls and plain water in the other. She’s been drinking from the bowl that has the remedy in it - self dosing. Animals obviously can’t talk so you can only go by symptoms and changes in behaviour. by @everydayhomeopathy

#Calendula - so bright and vibrant. I don’t have any in my garden yet (I’ll be planting some this weekend) - I snapped these beautiful flowers when I was in the city on the weekend. Calendula #tincture is excellent for dabbing on cuts and other skin wounds to heal quickly and safely.
