POSTS STORIES REELS

‘Seen Heard Held’ is out in the world today.

I’m still processing a lot of what this journey has been about, and I hope to talk more about the same as it continues to unfold.

It takes a village, as they say, and this was by no means an exception to the adage.

My brothers and cherished co-creators for years now who are featured guest performers:

Johannes Stange: Horns & Trumpet.
Tadao Ishihama: Sitar & Electronics.
Kike Perdomo: Saxophone.
Soumyajyoti Ghosh: Bansuri.

My Co-writer, Guitarist and Excecutive Producer Sebastian Arno Sprenger.

And my mentors Peter Crone, Ryan Hurst, Dr. John Matthias and Axel Schwarz who not just got me to re-examine what ‘possible’ means, but showed me how to, this past year.

It’s an honour.

‘Seen Heard Held’ is out on Warner Chappel and can be streamed on a platform of your choice.

I’ve found it easier to sing when words have failed me.
—
The solace of a melody helps heal a realm words don’t cut.
—
A lot of people may not realise this, but our recent performance ’The Art Of Uncertainty’ was an ode to the current global climate.
—
The words on this excerpt of my song ‘Feel Like A Fool’ are : ‘…the one I twist out of shape with my own hands’.
—
Where my ancestors came from they said the universe is within.
—
That everything on the outside is only a reflection of what we’re doing with that information.
—
If this were true, I sometimes shudder as much as I wonder, at its implications.
—
It scare the s*** out of me on bad days. And helps sing a song on others.
—
I don’t know what that really means.
—
But it’s all I got.
—
p.s. for my friends in the EU, you can still stream this entire concert on Arte TV. For my US/UK/Asia friends, I’m still trying to figure out how to share this with you legally.

Most of us have walked into a
‘catch-up’ and walked out with a commitment we never quite agreed to. The evening felt warm, and the terms stayed somewhere in the noise of the room. by @everynowheremusic

If I had a dollar for everytime my fellow creatives use one of these lines to justify passivity.

But take 30 seconds to hear me out.

Truth is the people I hear this rhetoric from are some of the brightest I meet.

So why the resistance?

It’s not laziness. It’s not incompetence.

It’s intelligence.

Channeled in the wrong direction.

We forget how easy it is to use our intelligence to justify a belief.

So consider being more mindful about the beliefs you choose to subscribe to.

I learnt the hard way.

I hope you don’t.

Hard to believe it’s been 3 whole years since Art of Uncertainty.

There are many reasons for this to qualify as the milestone on my musical journey.

- Being part of the 70th anniversary of one of Europes oldest Jazz festivals.
- Being part of a band comprised of ‘elder’ level masters.
- The music itself.

Most importantly though, its the candle we held to a vision that still waits to unfold in its entirety. by @everynowheremusic
