I know thick haired clients hear a lot of sighing, complaining, and “your hair is so thick” comments when they sit in someone’s chair, but I genuinely enjoy it.

There’s a method to the madness. Thick hair isn’t necessarily harder to braid, it just requires patience, sectioning, tension control, and a game plan. Once you understand the hair, it honestly does a lot of the work for you.

People think when you stop posting, you stop working.

Whole time, I’ve been grieving, healing, parenting, renovating a salon, dealing with life, learning, making mistakes, making adjustments, and still taking clients.

Just because I took a break from social media doesn’t mean I quit.

Sometimes it’s getting your life together so you can come back with intention.

Part 2 | Trial & Error 🖤

I used to think successful business owners had a perfect vision from the beginning.

I’ve learned, sometimes you spend money, try things, like them for a little while, realize they still don’t solve the problem, just to tear it down, and start over.

I don’t naturally have an eye for decor/design. I’ve always leaned more towards building steady clientele, efficiency, functionality, and creating a good client experience.

But I’m learning that the way people FEEL when they walk into your business matters too.

And once I figured out what was really bothering me about the salon, it completely changed the direction of it.

Happy birthday to Me ♑️🐐🥂

This year was a different type of “turn up” for me. I wanted to relax, look sexy and just BE! I’m a hard worker so whenever I get the chance to unwind I need the best experience!

@oasismoroccanbath was a 10/10!!

The ambiance, the staff, the suite, the massage, EVERYTHING was an amazing experience. I booked the Jacuzzi, Botanical Infused Steam, Sublime Body Scrub and OMB Massage.

10/10 Across the Board!

After I went to @docs_houston
10/10 experience as well!!! The music was great, vibes was nice for a date night, girls night or even a solo date

My whole weekend was A1 🥰

I haven’t celebrated the holidays for the past 7 years, but something about this year hit different.

Seeing those kids smiling was everything, especially My baby Mykey who is a real life Grinch 🤣

It feels good to spend time with my family and eat good!

I used to think doing EVERY braid style would keep my books full. Sew ins, cornrows, Senegalese twists, faux locs, etc. if you could pay me, I'd do it.

But what really happened was I was exhausted, my content had no clear message, and I was attracting clients who “just wanted the their hair done.”

Then I made ONE shift…I niched down. I focused on ONE type of client and everything changed.

My DMs and books started filling up with people who NEEDED what I offered. My content became easier to create because I knew exactly who I was talking to. And I started working LESS while making MORE because I wasn't saying yes to everything anymore. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a hustler so I still work a lot 🤣🤷🏾‍♀️ but it’s because I WANT to, not HAVE to!
