I opened EVERYTHING to address a need (equally) for access to well-made food and personal goods, and a space where all are welcome and treated fairly.
Since opening I have consistently witnessed and heard from the community that the shop has become a welcoming, safe, and respectful space for all people. And I cant believe I have to say this, but this includes our incredible staff who are the heartbeat of the shop. So I want to make one thing very clear: we have a zero-tolerance policy for behaviour that makes our staff feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or disrespected. This includes unwanted contact, suggestive or offensive language or behaviour, and of course fear or intimidation.

Our team members deserve to work in a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. We expect all interactions in our space to be rooted in mutual kindness and respect and anyone who violates these boundaries will be asked to leave, and will not be welcome back. This protects our mission, our people, and sets the example we want to be for our community.

The most heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out for the 2nd annual Andy Bobas kickball tourney yesterday, risking torn muscles and sun stroke in the name of FUN. Impossible to come up with a caption that captures the feelings about hitting the ONE YEAR milestone but a HUGE THANK YOU feels like the umbrella within which they all fit.

This store was a major life pivot induced by two deeply personal influences:
First, the need to be able to be at CML at the drop of a dime for my t1D daughter (there have been MANY times I have had to close the shop to rip over to the school and I am beyond grateful to this community for giving me that grace and understanding to be able to do that).
And second, losing my dad too soon - working hard his whole life and robbed of the retirement era he deserved. I think he would have told me to quit my job and make sure I spend my time doing something I think is important and fun. And this is both of those things. I can see him loving this shop life just as much as I do :)

Tomorrow marks one year of the shop (what!!!!!)
SO much has happened in just this one year.
Opening, redecorating, closing, moving, opening, redecorating, redecorating, redecorating… But the VERY best part has been all the new friends we have made.

Everyone who comes in the door is a part of this story. And if you have been in the shop you know, we are going to get to know each other - its a chatty shop!

But beyond the people who come in to scope us out, there are nearly 700 products in our little shop (!!) and we have a direct relationship with nearly ever single maker. These magical makers and creators are what make this shop what it is and what make me so proud. Introducing new people to these delightful crafts and foods and goods is such a tremendous source of pride for this lil shop. August 16th was my dad’s birthday and I really think he would’ve loved the idea of a kickball tournament in his name. Not because he loved soccer baseball, but because he was a fun-loving guy.

One month in our new home at 272 Main, what a trip! That hyper-speed move and reset was not easy and would not have been possible without the support and generosity of so many friends + family + strangers = ENDLESS IOUs. But we did it, and every day here since has been THE BEST. I LOVE this shop and every one of you is a part of it ❤️

🥳So LET’S CELEBRATE!! With a proper 🎉 GRAND OPENING 🎉 (never got to do it at the old shop, so this is the official)
📍June 14th 5-9PM we turn the shop into a proper bodega and you’re invited! Join us and live out that scene from that movie where they walk through a variety store to a secret party. Only the party’s not secret. I was honoured to be asked to make a mixtape for @everythingvariety_pec because I LOVE this local shop in Wellington. They only carry products that have plastic-free packaging AND they have an assortment of my favorite staples including coldshots from @hatchcrafted ☕️, brain power from @rainbomushrooms 🍄, jalapeño infused soda by @drinkbarbet, Caribbean meals by @kabirscaribbean, vinyl from @deserters.records 💿, and quite possibly the BEST Tiramisu on the planet by @enidgrace_mytable. taken in Wellington, Ontario by @everythingvariety_pec

Someone popped in the store the other day and said “YOU ARE ACTUALLY MOVING?! I thought that was an April fools joke!” Sure enough, I looked back and realized that our moving post was made on April 1st - unfortunate timing… So here I am again saying it for real 🔊🔊WE ARE MOVING!

We opened EVERYTHING in late fall of 2024 with the ambition to create a shop housing delightful Canadian made foods & goods - offering one of everything you need + a few things you don’t.

Now, 6 months in, we are moving the shop a block down the road to further empower this mission, enhance our offering to the community, and give more space to the local creators and makers we are proud to carry and support.

So if you haven’t been in to see the OG store, you’ve got three days as Saturday April 26th will be our last day at 303 Main Street. We will be open 10-6 that day for the final hoorah and then closed for a few days before opening the new doors at 272 Main on May 1.
