I keep going back to Georgetown Lake with my new camera lens, determined to capture a better bald eagle shot. 🦅 I haven’t been able to get one yet, but I have gotten other great photographs! I had one opportunity, but some guy scared the eagle away. Then he told me if I want a good photo, there’s a moose on an island. And that made up for it 🫎

Jackson Hot Springs is a deep, swimmable pool that’s naturally heated. You will see a lot of people sitting outside of the pool with their drinks because it can get hot! It’s a part of their rustic lodge that you can stay overnight at and they also have a restaurant with live music. I’d totally stay here to unleash my inner peace!

Big Hole Valley: Land of 10,000 haystacks. Across the valley is the continental divide and the beautiful Bitterroot Mountains. The famous Big Hole River winds through the valley that is noted for abundant hay, fine cattle and horses, great hunting and fishing, beautiful scenery, and friendly people.

Big Hole National Battlefield commemorates the Battle of the Big Hole that happened during the Nez Perce War in 1877. The visitor center has information on what happened here, including a short movie, and the grounds are open for walking. @bigholenps

Big Hole National Battlefield commemorates the Battle of the Big Hole between the Nez Perce tribe and the US Army during the Nez Perce War in 1877. It’s historically significant because of the casualties, including women and children, from the surprise ambush onto the tribe, that ultimately forced the tribe to leave their land behind.

Jackson and Wisdom better welcome us because their population is so tiny! These small towns in southwestern Montana give me ghost town vibes, but they are still active towns. Jackson has a hotel and Wisdom has a saloon that look like they’re from the Wild West.

🏔️🌲🌱 Lost Creek State Park is right outside Anaconda, but feels like a completely different biome. The park is valleyed by mountains, has more types of trees and plants, and is greener from the creek. It features a waterfall, hiking, and camping spots 💧🥾🏕️
