TEEN BOYS are struggling is this why?

At @podxparty we create a safe open space for our young people to share their feelings and this amazing young Kings feelings hit us all hard.

Teen boys are struggling they need positive male role models.

Despite their home situation every boy deserves a father figure a mentor, someone to support advise and guide through those crucial formative years.

Many thanks to @stand.up.fathers for responding and acting as a much needed mentorship pathway we need more like you.

It's easy to point the finger and call the youth of day dysfunctional and out of control but the real issue is the WHY.

Mums that feel threatened by their Sons!

It's all the parents' fault, lazy parenting, parents just don't care these days!

These are narratives society tends to slap on parents with wayward teenagers.

Did you know that child to parent abuse is more common than you think, 40% of cases go unreported, and 81% of perpetrators are adolescent males committing violence against their own mothers.

Child/Adolescent to Parent Abuse (CAPVA) is a recognised form of abuse in the legal realm but still needs to be recognised in our communities so the parents' suffering can be supported and protected.

Sometimes parents need to be protected, let's come together as a community, and explore what that looks like🙏🏽

TEENS WITH HIV....

This is such a significant topic, there are groups for children living with HIV in secondary schools, how many of you knew this?

We often hear of young people and knife crime, but a new battle is fast emerging.

The amazing @thesocialworkerandthementor joined me in the studio for an in-depth conversation about the issues young people are facing in the current climate and the obstacles they face as practitioners trying to make a difference.

In many households sex is still a taboo, If you don't talk to your children about the risks of being sexually active, who will?

How Can We Stay out Of Trouble If There's Nowhere To Go?

This should stop decision-makers in their tracks.

Young people aren’t asking for miracles—just youth clubs, safe spaces, trusted adults, and opportunities to belong.

Years of cuts to youth services have coincided with rising knife crime, exploitation, poor mental health, and isolation. We can’t expect young people to thrive without support.

This is exactly why we champion youth voice on our signature @podxparty panel we don't need to guess how to help todays youth.

They’re telling us what they need. We must listen.

Local authorities and Government must treat youth services as essential. Every young person deserves a safe place, someone who believes in them, and real opportunities.

Enough reports. Fund youth work. Reopen youth clubs. Invest in prevention.

Why do young people carry knives?

The real question is why aren't we listening?

Young people are not asking for violence.
They are asking for jobs.
They are asking for youth clubs.
They are asking for mentors.
They are asking for safe spaces where they can belong.

Yet year after year, services are cut, opportunities disappear, and communities are left to pick up the pieces.

Knife crime does not exist in isolation. It is often the consequence of deeper failures, poverty, exclusion, lack of opportunity, lack of trust, and the absence of safe places where young people can thrive.

We cannot arrest our way out of a problem that begins long before a knife is ever picked up.

Every young life lost is a tragedy. Every young person sitting in a prison cell is a failure of a system that should have protected, guided, and invested in them long before they reached that point.

If we are serious about tackling knife crime, we must be just as serious about investing in youth services, employment pathways, community programmes, mental health support, and safe spaces.

Young people have told us what they need.

The question is are those in power listening?

Don't wait until the victim is your child.
Don't wait until the sirens stop outside your street.
Don't wait until the headlines hit your community.

By then, another young life may already be lost.
