Me writing this realizing I’ve been doing 2k tests for 10 years 🫪 As someone who struggled on the erg all through school & uni, here’s a few things I wish younger me knew🙂‍↕️

1) Don’t overthink it. This isn’t something completely new, so don’t let the day become bigger in your head than it needs to be🧘🏼‍♀️

2) Fuel and hydrate early. The week leading up to your test matters just as much as the day itself. If you’re only thinking about hydration on test day, you’re probably too late! 🧃🥙🍌

3) Set your target beforehand and use your training to get used to seeing the numbers & feeling the burn. Testing should feel less like something stressful, and more like a chance to show yourself what you have worked for 🙂‍↕️

4)Don’t fly and die! Even if you feel amazing, stick to the plan in the first km. Build through the second half with whatever you have left💣📈

5)You are not your score. A few seconds faster or slower really doesn’t define you as a person or an athlete. As my coach loves to say, ‘the sun will rise tomorrow🌞’.

A slow week of training: Covid recovery, getting moving again & doing my best to be a chill girl🙂‍↕️🧘🏼‍♀️📈 (tips are welcome)

If you think our knees are wobbly, mind your business 🌞🙂‍↕️

A few things to avoid 🙅🏼‍♀️
1. Constantly comparing yourself to others
2. Skipping pre-erg activations
3. Not refueling during sessions (!!)
4. Going full send everyday
5. Setting the drag too high
