From church to cobbled streets — ALTAR is coming to @edfringe 2025 ✈️

ALTAR will be travelling to the UK this August for an international premiere at Underbelly following it’s celebrated & critically acclaimed Australian debut.

After leaving Australian audiences teary-eyed, tender, and on the verge of texting their ex (don’t do it babes), we’re over the moon to be bringing this intimate queer love story & trans love letter to @underbellyedinburgh

✨ALTAR will be playing for 24 performances over 26 days✨

Rehearsals have already begun. We’ve packed the veil and a packet of cigarettes. We cannot wait meet you at the steeple!! 🏳️‍🌈💒🏳️‍⚧️

“God exists in the specs of dust in between you and sunlight”

A week ago we closed ALTAR at the @edfringe at the Wee Coo @underbellyedinburgh !!!
I’m struggling to think of how to appropriately explain the experience of doing my favourite show for a full month in the biggest Fringe Festival in the world but it was truly life changing and an experience I will never forget.

I’m so incredibly grateful that @emtambree trusted me to play Sutton, that @katyatesdirector shaped and moulded this show around 1 pew in a small tent, and that @eddie.pattison broke my heart and pieced it together again everyday from 2:50-3:45.
Thank you, thank you thank you.
This show means the world to me and I feel so grateful to have been able to share it with an international audience (wtfffff!!!!).

Another huge thank you to the team of @bingefringemag and @jakemace.arts for presenting the Queer Performer’s Award to us in person, during our bows (since we weren’t able to make it to the ceremony that was on at the same time). Truly a moment I will never forget.

Kisses and love to all of the wonderful friends who came to support us, to the audiences who laughed and cried with us and to the loved ones back home who cheered us on from afar ❤️

3 years babyyyyy!!! I am so grateful for A’23. These have been some of the best but also hardest years of my life and I’m so lucky I got to spend it with these beautiful, talented, generous, creative people.
