I am a person who has historically been marred by fear. As a child, I was loud, outspoken, lonely- demanding of love and afraid of loss.
My first memory is of my Father’s passing. I recall the stale smell of a sterile hospital, the cold, empty draft of a room that once held life, now only housed a body supported by a ventilator— not my Dad anymore, but a ghost waiting to land somewhere softer.
I was an angry girl. I grew up sort of crooked. I spent years in whirlwind friendships and romantic relationships with people I thought would touch me from the inside- would hold me and heal me. Not to be known- no, never really- but for a moment, to not feel as alone. Hide the wound with a bandage, it’s still a wound underneath.
I’ve turned to vices. Those thoughts that cannibalize our brains like flesh eating amoeba won’t go kindly, and certainly not without reflection.
Art is a divine act of love- the way I see myself, how I process my sticky emotions and learn how to not vomit my trauma on fields of false flowers.
I forgive myself, over and over again- even on the days where it feels like I’m totally Chicken-Littling this shit and the world is collapsing on my fucking face. I do it for the little me- I become my own metric of comfort- my own role model and best friend.
The process of becoming something new is scary- and honestly… thrilling. If there is no one to be anymore except myself- to excavate and find that— what do I have to lose?

I had a birthday! I’m getting older! My prefrontal cortex is developing nicely! Aging is scary sometimes because suddenly you are so aware of a body that you only have so much time with. It’s also beautiful to witness myself grow in ways I never thought possible. I am really happy to be here & working towards constant creation. I am grateful for the community I’m building, for the people I love, the changing of seasons and knowing that we can remain soft, while also stepping into our power and fighting for a future we deserve 🖤

we’ve got our own light, carry the sun in our pockets…
they say the soul reflects in you, prisms of color-
sonnets in every shade; inside us, we all got deep purples and greens and yellows and greys like bruises;
like the before and after of thunderstorms, and all these colors eventually bleed brown together-
muddied by time and shape and the feeling of space they occupy behind our ribs-

there are songs that feel like colors too-
notes you can see and consume and digest, and hold in your mouth.

you can bite down on red and notice the gristle of its texture-undercooked meat or perfect rawness, whichever is preferable to the consumer.
